McDonald’s McResource Help Line Tells Worker How To Get Welfare Benefits

A recent study showed that 52% of non-management fast food workers in the U.S. are receiving some sort of federal benefits to supplement their wages, and that McDonald’s employees alone account for an estimated $1.2 billion (with a “b”) in annual payouts. And when employees call the McDonald’s hotline for workers looking to improve their financial position, operators direct them to various welfare programs.

The effect of no minimum wage, pay out subsistence through food stamps and welfare.

Now there is the Republican alternative. "Go fuck yourselves you lazy sons of bitches. Get a real job. Tap your parents for a couple hundred thousand and start a business."

Mcdonalds says to its employees, " You want a raise let Bilbo give it to you".
Now there is the Republican alternative. "Go fuck yourselves you lazy sons of bitches. Get a real job. Tap your parents for a couple hundred thousand and start a business, because Bilbo doesn't owe you a thing.
Now Bilbo...aren't you glad the Republicans have your back.

Being a cashier or a French fry cook was never intended to be a "career" or a job someone could support a family on. It would serve the employee better to seek a better paying position or even leave the company for a better paying position. Maybe they could (gasp) seek some vocational training.

But I know, errbuddy shuld be ables to live the Amerikun Dream off a dey job ats the local drive tru.

And the racism of the white man has always been the reason why they can't.

A tired old broken record that doesn't play anymore.

Fuckin' morons.

I can see Brandon raising his kids, working a job, and "seeking vocational training" all in the same day, not to mention the doctors appointments, school meetings, and the myriad other problems that arise day to day when you're broke.

All you clowns who blame the poor for not "pulling themselves up by their own bootstraps" are stuck in the myth that "anything is possible."
It's not.

There is a cycle of poverty that, once in, is nearly impossible to escape without help.
Educate yourselves to the hard reality the other half of the world faces every day.
Sitting smugly in your ignorance and lack of empathy for your fellow man only makes you, not them, look ridiculous.

So Clown....what's your solution to all this poverty ?

Henry Ford once said - "Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him, better take a closer look at the American Indian".

The American Indians were stripped of their land and their way of life, to say they would be better off if they don't receive something in return is stupid.

You're fucked up in the head Clown. I could give you an anecdotal personal story but I don't think I could help someone that fucked up.

Empathy? I have empathy for your children being raised by such a weak minded father.

Don't be such a pussy. Have some motherfuckin' courage.

For your family.

Damn.

And the Native Americans now have casinos on sovereign land that the Feds nor the States can touch.

Payback is a bitch.

McDonalds solution sounds an awful lot like Wal-Marts - government subsidies and financial assistance.
Lay it on the back of taxpayers, many of them are also their customers.

When some studies show that it would take a $60K job to replace all the government benefits one can receive
what do you think the other 50% of the population will do?
Hard to work for $18K/yr when you can get $60K in free benefits for doing NOTHING.

It will be interesting to see where government will get the money to support 99% of the population! :D

Also interesting that many companies are reducing full time jobs to part time, it doesn't just save on health insurance either. Think about vacation, sick days, PTO, holiday pay and more.

I suspect those casinos are controlled by organized crime......the Native Americans didn't have the resources
to start those multi-million dollar operations nor the experience to operate them. You see them at the casinos
as token employees.

Everything above is true. Full time jobs are like pensions that have almost disappeared; your going to see more and companies reducing their full time jobs...I've done it! A company never was in business to support your families, they exist to make money and because they "need workers", they pay what's required to keep the company running while still staying afloat, that's the hard truth.

It's not only Obamacare forcing companies to make this shift, it's the thousands of new regulations including looming carbon taxes, to survive companies are making the shift to part time workers, companies don't exist for the workers, they exist to fill their customers' needs. Elected Government officials brought this on so companies are merely saying you voted for this so turn to the Government for what we once offered. In the mean employers are telling the part time workers don't be late for work because I've got a folder full of applicants that can start tomorrow if you don't
appreciate the money.

I used to have all full time employees, now half are part time, as the full time workers move on I replace them with part time workers, that's been going on since Obama was elected in 2008, I saw this coming. I'll take care of my full time workers who have been around for a long time but new hires, turn to the Government for your benefits, that's what I pay taxes for.

Apparently you are mismanaging your "business." Costco pays their employees very well and with nice benefits.

I just checked and found out that costco has operating margins around 2.5% and McDonalds is around 30%. McDonalds will do much better if they actually pay their workers a higher salary. I have never seen unhappy employee at Costco...

I find it ironic that McDonalds margins are 10 times greater than Costco's, and Costco pays 3 times more than McDonalds.

Nor will I waste keystrokes debunking your nonsensical claim about part timers...

Costco is the exception to the rule of companies paying what one might consider 'fair' wages and benefits.

The fast food and retail industry are making record profits, but it's workers are forced to rely on public assistance just to afford the basics, think Wal-Mart, McDonalds, Wendy's, KFC and many, many others.

Home Depot is now trending to part-time workers rather than full-time.

"Walgreen Co., the largest U.S. drugstore, and more than a dozen other large employers have said they would offer their employee insurance for 2014 through the Aon Hewitt Corporate Health Exchange.
Home Depot employs about 340,000 people and will continue to offer healthcare benefits to full-time employees, who will be paying MORE for that coverage next year due to higher healthcare costs"

Obama....where is that PROMISED $2,500 SAVINGS with this new ACA?

It has disappeared and now it will COST $2,500 or MORE that the employee has to pay. That's a $5,000 swing in the wrong direction.

If government considers that savings, I'd rather have NO government and let the market place duke it out between the employees and the insurance companies.
Being a cashier or a French fry cook was never intended to be a "career" or a job someone could support a family on. It would serve the employee better to seek a better paying position or even leave the company for a better paying position. Maybe they could (gasp) seek some vocational training.
With unemployment still hovering around 11,255,000, there is little chance for many people not to make retail or fast food a career. The skills needed to advance are costly and most of those jobs don't pay enough to live and get schooling at the same time. Average debt after schooling is about $20,000 and can easily top out over $200,000. Imagine the number of years to pay off the debt and still be able to live, it can be done but it takes many, many years and sometimes decades to pay off a school debt and one still has to qualify to start the debt ridden trail.

Many, many post secondary educational schools today, do nothing more than promise the moon, churn the student for money, leave them indebted and then abandon them. David Hannum had it right! 8-)

Believe it or not, in many companies that offer health insurance to employees, only about 50% take it. That has made it easy for employers to reduce the number of hours to less than 30 for those who didn't take insurance, thereby reducing them to part time worker status to beat the ACA penalties. And if the company finds that they are still liable for the penalties, they reduce the number of full time workers so that the amount of wages is at a lower threshold so the penalties don't apply again.

Still befuddled? You should be.

Companies will find ways around getting penalized even if it means employing ONLY a part time workforce. Do some research, you will find what I have stated as the truth and it's happening everyday and every hour. Take off the blinders, it is really bright outside your world of darkness. :D

How can you say that when you don't know anything about me? I was raised in poverty by a single mother of 3 and was briefly homeless. The only education I ever had was vocational training (auto mechanics). I started my first job working in a shop when I was still in high school. I worked my way through private shops on to the dealerships. One of which provided me with specialized training and employed me for almost 20 years. I'm now a self employed specialist.
And guess what dickface, it's a few of your very own liberal buddies here that mock me for it. Don't lecture me about work.

I'll try and help.

If you want something out of life, YOU are responsible for making it happen. There are many obstacles, but you can't just sit back at McDonalds for your whole life and bitch because the "economy is bad" or "there are no other jobs" and McDonald's won't provide me with a career. Focus your energy on your goals and what's best for you and your family and MAKE something happen instead of sitting around crying like a little bitch about how unfair the world is.

As I said before, have some motherfuckin courage.

Don't be such a pussy.

Bravo, well said. If only our schools and liberals parents were to pound those truths into children's heads while they're still young, we would have much more productive citizens, but instead they stroke the bitching and entitlement "rights" on a daily basis. It's everyone else's fault but theirs! Sound like anyone you know?
