The State Department admitted Thursday that the US would not hand over $400 million in cash to Iran until it released four American hostages — two weeks after President Obama insisted the payment was not a “ransom.”

State Department spokesman John Kirby was asked at Thursday’s press briefing: “In basic English, you’re saying you wouldn’t give them $400 million in cash until the prisoners were released, correct?”

“That’s correct,” Kirby replied.

A hacked State Department email released Wednesday , outlined the conditions of the hostages' release, part of which was the $400 million in cash.

Mean while Obama golfs at Martha's Vineyard as Louisiana flooding continues to stack up the body count. Remember when Bush flew over Louisiana during the flooding and Obama said Bush doesn't care about the people or he would be on the ground coordinating help.

The way I see it.....the crime is not that Obama lied....he does that every day!

The crime is that by paying a ransom he violated the sanctions that are in place against Iran...

Will Obama face any charges for this violation?

Reports says the Justice Dept. had cautioned Obama about doing this...

meaning they saw it as a serious violation of law.

It really is sad, and it brings to mind Obama pledging in 2009 that you could keep your doctor, keep your plan, when Professor Gruber and other insiders admitted everybody knew all along that was not true.
