Political discussions about everything

A judge has sided with the builders of a replica of Noah;s Ark in Tennasee. At issue is that a part of the sales tax for the attraction (straight out of the book of Jewish fairy tales) will be refunded. The Ark is being built at the complex where the Creationist Museum is. The Creationist Museum attempts to prove that the earth is only 6000 years old and that science and the laws of nature are wrong.

Yes, we must treat everyone the same, even religious folk.

But next week they will be in court again arguing that they shouldn't be treated like everyone else because they are a religious organization and that the state must not interfere with their religious practices.

I do like those anachronistic roadside attractions like the elephant houses, gas station and restrooms that look like a hat and boots, or a coffee pot restaurant.

The difference is, these guys don't get the joke as others did with roadside Americana.
This Ark looks like a worthy contribution to the mass marketing of religion to the dim witted.
Heck, even I'm tempted to go see it.

“The court has affirmed a longstanding principle that the Constitution does not permit a state to show hostility towards religion. The First Amendment does not allow Christian organizations to be treated like second-class citizens merely because of what they believe,” he said.
^^^Is that the part that is bothering you Snake?

What bothers me is that ALL religions demand that the government stay out of their business until it benefits them to have the government in their business. I think that religions should pay their taxes as we do. The Constitution does not say that religions get a free ride just that the government shall allow anyone to practice their religion as they see fit.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
