President Obama made Christmas-time commutations of 95 federal prisoners Friday, while issuing pardons to two others, the White House announced. Friday's list included 40 people serving life sentences.

According to the White House Obama has now commuted more prison sentences than the combined number of those granted by presidents Carter, Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Clinton, and George W. Bush. Obama pledged to issue many more pardons and commutations in 2016 as his task force goes down the list of those deserving to be released. The White House explained thousands have been over prosecuted and sentenced, most often due to their race or drug crimes.

The sad reality is that young black males are only about 4 percent of America, but commit almost 1/2 its violent crimes.

I agree that anyone taking drugs and harming no one but themselves is being punished enough, let them destroy their bodies in peace as long as they don't commit any crime while killing themselves. Now those selling the drugs have and are killing more people than traffic accidents, wars and weapons combined all out of greed and no regard for other people...so they should be locked up and the key thrown away. As far as race being a crime, looks like it went over your head, I'll let the clown explain it.

Well, he is headed off for 3 weeks of taxpayer-funded vacation in Hawaii.

In a private, off-the-record meeting with members of the press this week, Obama admitted he was out of touch with public sentiment over the terrorist attack which may have diminished his grasp on the situation. An article in the New York Times had originally written, “Mr. Obama indicated that he did not see enough cable television to fully appreciate the anxiety after the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, and made clear that he plans to step up his public arguments.”
