Political discussions about everything

Some of the charges against the cops in Balto are totally absurd.

Murder?

Assault?

Come on, some bicycle cops saw a drug dealer and, for some reason, he fled and they sought to arrest him.

Why should any cop in any inner city even try to keep the peace or even try to do anything but go through the motions if a racist mayor/prosecutor lodge silly charges to appease a mob (to use Charles Krauthammer's phrase)?

Everyone's afraid of having that race baiting poverty pimp Al Sharpton show up on TV or in person and running his mouth to incite a riot.
Despite being a long time complete fraud and tax cheat, Al Sharpton is untouchable because of the violence that would ensue if anyone even so much as suggests legal action be taken against him.

A Baltimore Police Union Spokesman "Police have heard the leaders of Baltimore loud and clear and as a result the streets of Baltimore are now much more dangerous, police will no longer take the risks they had before to keep the city safe; especially if there is chance someone may get injured. We recommended citizens be prepared for criminals to take advantage of this opportunity provided by Baltimore's leadership."

Police need probable cause to make an arrest. Was the sole fact that he ran from the police a reason for the police to pursue? NO, he was not wanted for anything. There was no probable cause, henceforth the false arrest charge. That's an iron clad cinch.

And as of yet the police haven't explained how he died in their custody. So Krauthammer is another badgebunny who's creating yet another smokescreen and false narrative...

Elkin has mentioned what is really the most interesting aspect of the case.

Was this fellow acting in a suspicious manner? Was he known to the cops from his many prior arrests? Was there some complaint of loitering or something like that?

Some of this will eventually emerge when the racial rhetoric dies down, but Mosby is young, inexperienced, and was perhaps guided toward these pretty absurd charges by some of Holder's folks.

The thug had been convicted of 5 felonies including drug dealing and violence, he was out on bail for selling drugs in the same area he was spotted in, the cops knew him well, when they started coming his way he ran. It doesn't take a 8th grader to figure out his activities were suspicious and warranted looking into, that's what police officers are paid to do. Of course now that Baltimore leadership have made it clear they don't want police following up on suspicious activities or those who just want to destroy...the police will ignore it and go the other direction to avoid conflicts.

Yep, imagine if you were working as a cop in Balto today.

I'd just focus on getting through the day and doing 20 years or whatever is needed in Balto to get a pension.

No Elk...they don't have to..... Mosby has already given the mob an explanation and filed charges.
I'm sure they will offer their side of it if the case goes to trial.
