Political discussions about everything

The headlines are filled with reports of unemployment somewhat over 5 percent.

Why is the U-6 now exactly 11 percent?

Why is the labor force participation rate 62.8 percent?

Sure, it is good that unemployment has been trending down, but when people argue the trend they are usually trying to distract you from where you are now -- i.e., what really matters.

And where we are now is 11 percent real unemployment, with shockingly low participation of 62 percent.

Forbestardo's IQ is really low.

Lower than the unemployment rate.

Only a dummy would cherry pick the numbers to agree with the pet theory.

Murphy's Law in full effect!!!

If the economy is strong, why does the Fed hold rates are essentially zero?

Perhaps the so-called headline unemployment rate gets so much attention because it is pretty much the only positive economic indicator?

And, if you look more deeply at the U-6 and the 62 percent participation rate, that isn't good either.
