Part of Obama speech today was explaining now that the GOP has won control of the Senate and House they must pass their own immigration bill that's acceptable to him before the end of this year or he will use his administrative and executive powers to act.

You would think the President of the United States would know that the change over doesn't take place until the end of the year. You would also expect the media to point that out and ask Obama how the GOP can pass their own bill before they're in power.

Obama must think all Americans are as stupid as his followers and will applaud his generous offer.

An comprehensive immigration bill takes months to write, and freshman Representatives and Senators are not the ones writing it. They don't need to be there to start the process.
It will take months of horse trading just to get the Republicans to agree on a bill and it will probably take much more time to get a compromise between the two houses.

They will no more be tax paying residents than they are now. Maybe a few who have set down roots or now have their entire families in the US....the majority only see the work permit as a document protecting them from deportation and giving them authority to demand more services (healthcare ,schools etc.), they don't intend to support.
They will have to register and submit to a background check so look for wide spread counterfeiting of the work permit.

There was a tuberculosis scares at one of the elementary schools in San Antonio. They found an illegal kid had it, so they had to check everyone in the school. Turns out the kid's parents used counterfeit immunizations records on all three of their kids to get them into school. I'm sure the kid is being treated at taxpayer expense and the others are getting their shots.They weren't allowed to go back to that school and now they don't know where they are....probably left town to spread their diseases elsewhere.
