In the unintended consequences department,
Colorado is now experiencing a vast influx of homeless people who found out their EBT cards can be used to purchase weed at the local pot shop.
I noticed during a recent drive through rural Colorado that every little one horse town has it's own dope emporium. All with a large green cross prominently displayed on the side. The liquor stores sell weed infused energy drinks (now THERE is an oxymoron if there every was one) and weed candy (good marketing idea there).
But it is also being reported that the dope shop weed is more expensive than the type sold by the shady types on the street corner and projected dope tax revenues are not hitting projected levels.
So, instead of just having a bunch of happy, lethargic, unproductive louts laying around consuming Doritos and Oreos, you have a whole bunch of new problems cropping up and consuming the tax dollars paid in by the (increasingly diminishing) productive people.
Hope and change, yes we can!
