Every day more than 1,000 Americans die from sudden cardiac arrests.It’s a leading cause of death among adults over the age of 40, But an app called Pulsepoint is trying to change that.

This is how it works: those trained in CPR are encouraged to download the app on their smart phone.Then, when a 911 call goes out for a victim of cardiac arrest. A simultaneous notification is sent out through the app, alerting anyone, within a quarter mile of the victim.

An interactive map then guides the citizen rescuer to the victim bringing people help while the ambulance is on the way.The app was launched in February of 2012.

You don't necessarily need to be certified in CPR to download the app. All it takes to potentially save someone's life is 100 compressions a minute. Any pressure is good as long as it's at the center of the chest.

The app is currently being used in 17 states and more than 525 communities.

While there are hundreds of medical apps, this is the first of its kind.

In this society if you come to the aid of someone suffering a heart attack or stroke and start compressing their chest you had better have good liability insurance because even if they live if it's a liberal you save, they will sue you. If they die their family will pursue manslaughter charges, if the person is black or gay Holder will add on a hate crime. Bottom line ask them if they voted for Obama before touching them, if they say yes, walk away...on second thought run!
