SEOUL (AFP) — The North Korean army said Thursday it had final approval to launch “merciless” military strikes on the United States, involving the possible use of “cutting-edge” nuclear weapons.

In a statement published by the official KCNA news agency, the General Staff of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) said it was formally informing Washington that reckless US threats would be “smashed by… cutting-edge smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear strike means”.

“The merciless operation of (our) revolutionary armed forces in this regard has been finally examined and ratified,” the statement said.

“The US had better ponder over the prevailing grave situation,” it added.

North Korea had threatened a “pre-emptive” nuclear strike against the United States a month ago, and last week the supreme army command ordered its strategic rocket units to combat status for strikes on the US mainland and US bases in Guam and Hawaii.

“The moment of explosion is approaching fast,” Thursday’s statement said, adding that a war could break out on the Korean peninsula “today or tomorrow”.

Obama has proven he is clueless and will back down from aggression, North Korea has picked up on it and now they're weighing how many nukes they can launch off before someone forces Obama to do something. Even then if they stop launching the nukes Obama would probably not attack and enter into bribing North Korea with money not to launch more.

You do know that there were war games schedule with S.K., years in advance, right? The build-up you claim is just part of the scheduled war games, at least until the little obama in NK decided he wanted to nuke us.

Leroy my son was in Korea the past 2 weeks for those war games remember he's asigned to a Korean unit it was just stationed in Hawaii.. He got back from Korea this past Saturday.. And Obama is none of those things just watch how the G.O.P fall in line if North Korea starts some mess..

I suspect Obama would task a blue ribbon committee to research a response while he flew off to Florida to get in some golf while his family fly off to different parts of the Country to get some deserve vacation time in. Honestly I think Obama would go the route of increasing aid to North Korea if they nuked us.
