It's obvious he was a coward, and we are always told how super smart these evil little white boys are.
He was a maladjusted little rich kid struggling with his relationship with his mother. And she was a gun enthusiast. She took him to the gun range and encouraged him. He could have resented her and her guns enough to kill her and have been intelligent enough to concoct his plan to outrage the country enough to move on gun control legislation. I think that would explain his path of least resistance by choosing young school children in a gun free zone. And then he takes his cowardly exit with his own bullet.
And he surely knew his fame would be certain. He wasn't black and out robbin' and jackin' and blowin' the heads off of little cracker babies in their strollers. That would have been just a minor news story.
