Obama said that if Syria were to use chemical weapons that would be crossing the redline would bring an immediate U.S. response, welll it did this is the response:

AP- White House spokesman Jay Carney responed to questions concerning the attack "The President is extremely concerned about reports that Syria has used chemical weapons on it's own people, reportingly resulting in over 25 being killed and unknown numbers injured. If the reports turn out to be true Obama has promised to immediately appoint a Blue Ribbon Commission to address this egregious action on the part of Syria. " He pointed out that there is no evidence that Syrian rebels used the chemical weapons as Syria is alledging.

Obama also says that Iran will have a nuclear weapon within a year and he will take action prior to then. I'm betting at the 11 month, 3 week mark Obama will announce he will be forming another Blue Ribbon Commission, to research and make recommendations on how to deal with Iran's nuclear weapons.
