Senator Ron Paul is very deserving of our praise for his recent filibuster on the CIA appointment of Mr Brennan.
Well, why?
Well, not for the stated reason of his filibuster, getting an answer to the specific question of whether the CIA or the military could execute American citizens on American soil. Why not? Because the question had already been answered clearly and concisely before he started his filibuster. The answer was a clear and concise, No.
The praise comes in two parts.
1) This is a very important issue worthy of continued extensive investigation and clarification with all the legal issues becoming well defined and subject to complete public overview.
2) Unlike his fellow Republicans, Paul did a real public standup filibuster and did not wimp out and subvert the fili8buster rule by simply registering an interminable hidden filibuster never putting himself on the line.
So. bravo Sen Ron Paul. This is probably the most sane and honest thing you have ever done.
