What more info do you want?

They are working hard to get the site back up. While it may have initially looked like more of the hack they have been very forthcoming with basic information, enough so that I think we can safely believe, especially after a workday as opposed to the weekend, that this is the legitimate VW crew.

This whole thing makes me nervous. There have been a handful of sites that I used to frequent that went out this way. All of sudden they would have some message similar to yours "something bad happened, blah blah blah", "we'll be back soon", then all of sudden "sorry were closing down, bye". I'd hate to loose this site, everyday that you're down you loose more people. Why not at least setup a temp BB on here so that people can still share pics?

You mean like set up a quick phpBB system so that information can be shared and people can still do some communicating? Maybe even post a few pics for those who don't mind putting pictures online not in the password protected areas? Something like, well, this area we have right now?

I meant a BB for pics, like "explict BB" on redclouds. One where you don't need to wait for moderator approval. This BB doesn't accomplish much. They could have a one paragraph explanation on the homepage that would explain about the same amount of info as had been posted on this forum.
