Professor Dershowitz, a liberal Democrat since the 1960s, said on TV that, in general, the person who deserves trust is the one who wants everything unsealed and open.

E.g., the affidavit supporting the search warrant signed by the partisan Democrat magistrate.

"Professor Dershowitz, a liberal Democrat since the 1960s,..."-johnforbes

...and a Right Wing conservative since the 2010s.

Of course johnforbes wants the supporting affidavit open because it will harm any prosecution of Trump by giving a heads up about just what they have him on.

Why johnforbes wants criminals to go scot-free is beyond the understanding of any good American, but he does.

johnny should listen to sillydumy when the guy gleefully tells him that Trump is a curse on this country.

Come on, Clown.

Dershowitz was always a liberal Democrat and still is.

If memory serves, he voted for both Hillary and Joe.

What Dershowitz is doing is defending principles in his latest book.

Even though he is a person I disagree with on most things, his views on freedom of speech are correct.

johnny, Trump would use the information in the affidavit to intimidate witnesses.

He has a track record of such behavior, and you know it. He tried intimidating officials in the election fraud bullshit.

You heard the recordings of the phone call yourself.

The way you would do that is redact the name of any witness.

There probably was some Democrat mole who said Orange Man Bad.

Perhaps that librarian who complained in Feb?

But the old case over audio tapes that Bill Clinton once kept in his sock drawer may have significant impact over the FBI search of Melania Trump's closet and Donald Trump's personal office.

The case in question is titled Judicial Watch v. National Archives and Records Administration and it involved an effort by the conservative watchdog to compel the Archives to forcibly seize hours of audio recordings that Clinton made during his presidency with historian Taylor Branch.st memorable for the revelation that the 42nd president for a time stored the audio tapes in his sock drawer at the White House. The tapes became the focal point of a 2009 book that Branch wrote.
U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson in Washington D.C. ultimately rejected Judicial Watch's suit by concluding there was no provision in the Presidential Records Act to force the National Archives to seize records from a former president.

But Jackson's ruling — along with the Justice Department's arguments that preceded it — made some other sweeping declarations that have more direct relevance to the FBI's decision to seize handwritten notes and files Trump took with him to Mar-a-Lago. The most relevant is that a president's discretion on what are personal vs. official records is far-reaching and solely his, as is his ability to declassify or destroy records at will.

The records are already seized, dummy, for better or worse.

So what are you saying now? That the Archives should return boxes full of top secret documents to some nut job in Florida?

Really? :/

Well, nobody knows what is in them.

Were they the Crossfire Hurricane documents? Were they papers Trump wanted for writing his memoirs, which all presidents do?

I don't know, but Brandeis said sunlight is the best disinfectant.

A person who urges sunlight is generally innocent. Not always, but generally.

No, EVERYBODY knows what's in them, including you. You should read a news report sometime instead of simply guzzling your liquefied partisan shit from your trough.

You know Trump kept a dozen boxes of top secret documents. YOU KNOW IT, and you post your bullshit anyway.

He kept them in a storage room that staff had access to for months. Investigators have subpoenaed video to prove it. And Trump entertains Chinese nationals frequently. He refused to return the documents to the archives for 18 months. He was NOT "cooperating" with the National Archives, as he lied to you.

After asking for the documents without compliance, then subpoenaing the documents and still getting no compliance, the Archives had no choice but to put the security of the country first and sent the FBI in to get them to protect them from the minimum wage immigrant staff Trump hires.

I've never been to Mar a Lago, so I have not the slightest idea what is there.

On the other hand, I visited Clowntoker's baronial mansion, Mar a Shacko, and noticed what a hovel it is.

johnny, your admitted ignorance of the subject does not qualify you to defend Trump's behavior, now does it.

You just have to trust the video the Justice Department got from Mar a Lago showing people/staff going in and out of the store room.

Not having been to Mar a Lago means not having been there.

I have been to Florida, and tend to visit every February.

Once there, my lean, taut, tan physique glistens in the pale February sun.

However, Clowntoker's skin is about as dry as a corn husk in early November.
