Political discussions about everything

The original aim was to flatten the curve and not overwhelm hospitals, with the understanding at some point everyone would be exposed to it. We heard predictions of all hospitals being overwhelmed with people dying in the hallways, turns out the predictions were extremely wrong. Most hospitals have more empty beds than they had this time last year, we were told to expect 2 million dead even with the lock down. Emergency hospitals were built, hospital ships brought it, they are now being taken down because there were no patients.

It's time to admit, the climate change crowd once again got it wrong and were being supported by "panic porn" from the media. The greatest hoax this country has ever seen, the new world order pulled it off, and they are still milking this new virus, it was a God sent for them.

Open the country back up, monitor hospitals, if a hot spot develops deal with that hotspot, but stop treating the whole damn country as a hot spot. This is just "another' nasty virus, it isn't the boogeyman. I'm betting we've had several million who had it and got over it, before even knew it was here.

Fauci and Birx are both linked to the Clintons.

Fauci emailed his admiration and "love" of Hillary, and the husband of Birx was a Clinton advance man.

The lockdown went from not overwhelming the hospital system into an endless power trip for Democrat governors hoping a ruined economy would evict Trump in November.

There is no reason whatever for the continued lockdown. 2 and 1/2 million Americans die every year of various causes and we don't destroy the economy.

History look back on this as the biggest chicken little joke ever played on the world. It's all part of a agenda by the new world order and the media is in bed with them. Trump is the only world leader standing in the way of that agenda.

So do you deny that social distancing was effective in lessening the spread of COVID-19?

What proof do you have that it did? It's starting to look as if this virus is more contagious than the flu, but less deadly. Cuomo just said that 3 Million New Yorkers have had it and didn't even know they were infected. We should have just let it's self burn out while they worked on a vaccine for next year. Locking down may have even increased the spread.

Ain't hindsight a beautiful thing? Even if it is 20-50 hindsight.

Now when will RealTool criticize Trump for shutting down the economy and for currently telling governors that it's too early to open up again?

Let's wait on the little hypocritical turd, shall we?

What does my opinion have to do with our President's? I'm not a Democrat, I don't lock step with anyone.
#124410
Of course you do, dimwit.

You agree with everything Trump has ever said or done.

The proof is that you have never criticized anything he has said or done. And when anyone DOES criticize something he has said or done, you fly to Trump's defense.
#124422
They acknowledged it long ago, johnny. They decided it is better to have people alive. That's their job. They are not economists.

If you don't prioritize people's lives over their jobs, then just come out and say so. Trump will love you for it.
#124430
Sure, but they are being myopic.

You do not need to be an economist to realize the public health disaster of 26 million jobless, with the alcoholism, drug abuse, spousal abuse, depression, anxiety, etc which flows along with that.
#124434
Your high school English teacher should have made you read Arrowsmith by Sinclair Lewis.

You are responding exactly like "the public" in all epidemics. You minimize the threat, poo-poo everything done in your interest, and criticize those helping you before you know anything about what you are facing.

Here's something you should also read for a little perspective: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/23/opin ... pamuk.html

You'll undoubtedly recognize yourself in a lot of those novels. You'll recognize Trump in them as well.

Don't insist on always learning everything the hard way.
#124449

Typical socialist, the "public" should shut the fuck up and do what we're told to do. Clown you do realize that every socialist country has failed they're "public"...don't you???

Well, I will admit our public education system failed YOU.

That's what it does to students that don't pass English. They get an "F" :wacky:

Don't go and trip all over yourself on your way to cash in on your Trump $1200 socialist check.....and yes it was from Trump because his name is on the fucking check!
#124476
Probably the best approach.

I made a donation yesterday to a local distillery which has donated thousands of gallons of hand sanitizer to fire depts., police, hospitals, nursing homes.

The lockdown should be lifted immediately and let the American people figure out how to do a sanitary restart.

No restart will be perfect, but America has to stop shooting itself in the foot.
#124480
johnny, you say it violates the Hippocratic Oath to put 26 million people out of jobs.

What you overlook is the public health risk of having 350 million people face a pandemic alone without testing supplies, adequate PPE supplies, a steep infection curve without enough ventilators available, failing police and fire forces due to illness, and a medical system where large numbers of doctors and nurses are becoming ill and dying, leaving the public to panic knowing there is not care available if it is needed.
#124484
No, that's not part of the oath, and I've previously listed the source.

I said that our reaction to the novel virus was to first do harm, and it may well turn out to be the largest public health policy mistake in the history of America.
#124499
"I said that our reaction to the novel virus was to first do harm, and it may well turn out to be the largest public health policy mistake in the history of America."-johnfoibles

Or it may well turn out to be the smartest thing anyone ever did for the public health and may have saved the country from an unimaginable disaster. I don't know and you don't know, do you.

But what everyone does know is that it would be stupid to make epidemiological decisions based on your gross ignorance and wild speculation. In the mean time, speculate all you like for your partisan purposes and everyone else will continue to ignore you and only respond to the epidemic as indicated by scientific data instead of what Trump feeds you at his propaganda 'news conference' campaign events.

Regardless, we certainly didn't know two months ago and decisions were made with the best data we had at the time, which because of Trump's failure to put the Federal government behind efforts to collect the information the experts needed and still need, they will continue to do the best they can until they know otherwise.
#124513
You realize we're dealing with millions of Trump supporters who were out in force protesting at state capitols without masks and refused to keep their distance from each other, right?

Do you honestly think those people will follow the health rules, johnny? They have already proved to us that they won't.

That's the problem with the President minimizing the danger the way he has. Troglodytes are out and happily shuffling about as if nothing is out of the ordinary. I see them every day in my own town. I can't stay away from them because THEY walk into ME.
#124517
Clown, there are hundreds of millions of ignorant people in the world.

The sad truth of the 20th Century is that socialism and Marxism appealed to many of them on the theory they would get something from somebody else free.

Will all ignorant people obey health rules? Of course not, but only the Left Wing aspires to control every aspect of human nature (which is a fool's errand anyhow).
#124518
"Clown, there are hundreds of millions of ignorant people in the world."-johnflubs

Exactly, and if I am to avoid becoming another one of their victims, we need to some stop them from behaving stupidly and recklessly. Especially with Trump encouraging them to behave stupidly on a daily basis.

"The sad truth of the 20th Century is that socialism and Marxism appealed to many of them on the theory they would get something from somebody else free."-johnflubs

What? THAT'S your argument for opening up the economy now? That theoretically some people want something for nothing?
What has that got to do with a pandemic response, dimwit?

"Will all ignorant people obey health rules? Of course not, but only the Left Wing aspires to control every aspect of human nature (which is a fool's errand anyhow)."-johnflubs

Again, that helps your argument that the economy should be opened up now.......HOW?

You're arguing against your own position, dummy. You are utterly unable to think beyond your ridiculous partisan politics. They are making a fool of you.
#124519
You realize we're dealing with millions of Trump supporters who were out in force protesting at state capitols without masks and refused to keep their distance from each other, right?
They know it's all "panic porn" and refuse to be sheeple.
#124576
To stay on topic, it should be noted that continuing lockdown merely delays population immunity.

We already know from multiple studies that very wide asymptomatic spread of covid has occurred, thus driving the mortality rate down to equal or below regular flu.
#124580
Don't worry, johnny. Trump has said he will start to open parts of the economy in a few weeks and has advised some governors against doing anything prematurely.

Have you forwarded your concerns to the Trump authorities? They might like to be informed about this radical idea of wrongly delaying population immunity. Why doesn't someone let them know right away?

Are you saying he is wrong in his policies? Can't he do anything right?
#124630
Yes, johnny, sillydummy thought it was somehow quite the joke that I recently composed a scathing one-sentence response in 3 minutes.

I wonder what he thinks it means that I destroyed his last idiotic post in just TWO minutes...! :O

So silly, should I shoot for one minute to humiliate you the next time you say something stupid? (Ooh, how low can he go?)
#124635
It's time the United States follow Sweden's scientists and medical people's advise on how to handle this annoying virus. They have one of the few economies that hasn't been destroyed by the "panic porn".

Those who are vulnerable take special precautions until there is a vaccine while the rest of the population continue their normal daily activities.
#124636
Only it isn't that simple, Tool.

The Swedes as a society largely do what their government tells them to do for the greater good. They also made sure there was widespread testing and that their medical system could handle the influx of patients they knew were coming. They made sure their medical workers had sufficient PPE to do their jobs. They are socialists, after all, and you know what you think of socialists. America? Not so much.

The U.S., unlike Sweden, was not ready for the blow to the health care system. The U.S. was not (and still isn't) prepared to provide adequate PPE to care providers and first responders. You assholes are still bitching about how it is the job of individual states to outbid the Federal government for such supplies.

You, and others like you say "Fuck the government" and don't just ignore, but vociferously flout, the social distancing, face masks, and other things the Swedes did and are doing to stop assholes like you from killing people. Your irresponsible protests at the state capitols last weekend prove it.

Just a couple days ago johnforbes conceded that there are millions of ignorant people who would disregard the rules.
And the U.S has 33 times more of them than Sweden has. I would tell you to do the math, but I know you can't.

So thank you, but no thank you. We should apply reasonable procedures that fit our culture, vastly different geography, travel patterns, and medical preparedness.
#124637
Incidentally, you should be aware that Sweden has had 20,300 cases of COVID-19 and 2,462 deaths, making their mortality rate 1.2%. Not a problem at all for you clowns, is it?

Compare that to .02% for the flu in the U.S..
#124650
Good one!

As to distancing, the fact is that nobody knows whether it helps or hurts.

Study after study has shown very wide asymptomatic spread of covid, which drives mortality rate down almost to that of regular flu.

As more testing is down, that rate will likely end up at -- or below -- that of ordinary flu.

But we destroyed 30 million jobs and created a NEW public health problem.
#124662
Of course social distancing works....infection rates plummeted after social distancing was implemented. That's a proven fact

And hydroxychloroquine doesn't work.

Now we have Gilead's approved antiviral drug remdesivir....which is a drug that has gone though legitimate clinical trials and has shown promise in clearing COVID-19 but those in MAGA land are not buying it because of their partisan douchbaggery.
