Political discussions about everything

johnny is confusing Merkel with Trump. He's the one who says that incessantly about America.

And knowing how you hate to use perfectly good English words and phrases whenever your paltry education managed to drill a foreign word or phrase into your skull in their place, you will undoubtedly be saying it too to the Trump base as you get on your soapbox for Trump next year.

Merkel, destroyed Germany's culture and the future of native German children. She fell for Obama's agenda of bringing down her country to the level of third world countries to make things fair.

To Clown's question, I lived 12 yrs of my adult life outside the U.S., and that accounts for my use of that wording.

Not all of us are like Clownhicker, who never ventured past the "City Limit" sign in scenic Bugtussle, Mississippi.

If you lived that long outside the U.S., then there is no excuse for you supporting Trump when you saw his campaign lifting its tactics from the Nazi playbook.

For any other American, that would have been a frightening observation. But you just shrugged and still insist there are "good people on both sides." You really need to read your Santayana.

At LEAST you need to watch the musical Cabaret, if that's more your speed.
For some reason all Trump supporters really love the song "Tomorrow Belongs To Me"

Come on, nobody with the slightest knowledge of history would compare Hitler and Trump.

That is mere rhetoric, and it flunks the test of good rhetoric by being too far away from what any modestly educated person knows about the origins of Nazi rule.

I think you need to be put to work, johnny.

After all, Arbeit Macht Frei.

But hey, I don't mean anything bad by that. You like camping, right? Just consider it a little Scouting survival test.

The Left Wing has taken to using the word "Nazi' to apply to any non-socialist.

And they have tossed the word around with gay abandon, even those who are not gay.

But such casual uses of Nazi words and comparisons reveal a deep ignorance of history, and they reveal people who have never had the sobering experience of visiting the death camps.

In other words, they reveal the intellectual laziness of modern Democrats who favor free education and health care, as we all do, but are too lazy to ask how society might pay for that.

They hate Trump, but are too lazy to learn that 16 million Americans were in uniform (on a population base of 150 million) around the globe to fight the Nazi menace, to fight fascism in Italy, to fight imperial Japan.

Modern Democrats are just that intellectually lazy and vapid.
