BEIJING (Reuters) - Chinese companies have stopped buying U.S. agricultural products, China’s Commerce Ministry said on Tuesday, a blow to U.S. farmers who have already seen their exports slashed by the more than year-old trade war.
China may also impose additional tariffs on U.S. farm products, the Ministry said, raising the barrier to future trade that further targets rural states that supported U.S. President Donald Trump in the 2016 election.

RealTool thinks this is another genius move on Trump's part.

He also thinks Trump (in another 'brilliant' move) "forced" China to devalue its currency against their will. Tool just doesn't understand that China's ability to control the Yuan means they can keep export prices low on the cell phones, computers, and clothing we want for Christmas while widening the trade gap with us. They will keep selling to us but we won't sell to them because prices for U.S. goods (agricultural or manufactured) will skyrocket there, even without further tariffs on their part. China will still get what it wants (U.S. dollars) but Trump's belligerence will do little to harm their economy. We just get larger trade deficits (which Republicans are supposed to hate, but RealTool is cheering.)

RealTool also thinks the strengthening dollar is a good thing for our economy right now. He clearly doesn't make his money by exporting anything.

RealTool doesn't understand how money works. Nope, he's got GOLD! and actually believes he's getting rich holding it.

Just last week democrats where whining about Trump's tariffs causing prices of goods from China to go up. Well Trump got China to lower the value of their currency resulting in the prices of goods from China to go down and now democrats are whining that cheap goods from China is a bad thing.

Pure genius on Trump's part, we're collecting billions in tariffs and getting China in the end to pay for it, not the American consumer. ;)

China is not going to be able to stop buying US agricultural goods over the long haul unless they totally restructure their international trade schemes.

And China would lose their manufacturing dominance to Vietnam if the trade battle went on for long.

For those of us who served long ago in Vietnam, the irony would be rich.

Bingo! They've got a lot of mouths to feed so any halting of buying our agricultural goods can't last long...in the mean time while their people for two reasons (shortages of food and devalued currency) will be paying more for food, American will have a surplus driving our food prices down. China knows that and their moves are just a bluff, they're use to the media and Obama panicking and giving in, there's a different sheriff in town and he's calling their bluff. Democrats are trying everything they can to make America fail so they can have a chance in 2020 but Trump keeps winning in the long run.

Clown...I thought you didn't believe in Christmas...or is this just more of your "made up bull shit.."?

sillydummy, the Christmas holiday is an actual thing celebrated by dimwits and fools. It's on the calendar and everything.

I believe in all actual things. They exist whether or not I think they shouldn't.

The fact that your Christmas holiday has nothing at all to do with either Jesus or reality is not my fault. It's yours.

"Just last week democrats where whining about Trump's tariffs causing prices of goods from China to go up."

That's because just last week Trump's tariffs WERE causing prices to go up. Now this week China has outsmarted Trump again. Now they get our dollars (providing them much-needed hard currency) and we sell nothing to them, strengthening their own manufacturing and widening the trade deficit. Brilliant!
That used to bother Republicans. They used to say it was a bad thing, but not any more.

What I can't figure out is why conservatives now think it's a brilliant move on Trump's part to have China not buy anything from our farmers. They have our farmers paying for the Trump tariffs. And by "farmers" I mean the American taxpayers who will be supporting those farmers when they go broke.
And when we are paying our farmers their socialist bailout money, Republicans will applaud the socialism while simultaneously whining about how bad socialism is. It will even be a Republican dog whistle term during our election next year. Trump is using it already.

Republicans think that as long as they get their cell phones and video games cheap, everything is right with the world. They don't care if our economy tips into recession.

"Pure genius on Trump's part, we're collecting billions in tariffs and getting China in the end to pay for it,..."

The amount of money paid to farmers has already exceeded the amount the government has taken in in tariffs, once again proving to the dimwitted that there is no free lunch. Trump has gotten us into a trade war with no exit strategy. Trump thinks that all you have to do is bully people and everything will work out----SOMEHOW. He doesn't know how.

How soon he forgets all the times that bankruptcy was his only way to get things to work out. He forgets that declaring bankruptcy is not an option for the U.S. government.

When the Trump global recession hits, conservatives aren't going to understand what happened to their retirement money.

Yes, that means as much today as it does any other day of the year, which is not much.

And it's just as sincere, too.

But Merry Newtonmas to you, silly.

China will blink and it won't take long, if they don't feed their 1.4 billion citizens the leaders there might be forced out or worse.

You mean like they blinked when Trump told us he had a deal with China and they changed the terms at the last minute?

I'm sure you're right, Tool. Chinese leadership is shaking in their little black slippers. You see how well that little uprising is going in Hong Kong where there is news coverage. Imagine how well it will go outside Beijing and Shanghai where there are no international cameras around.

Can you say "Tiananmen Square"? I knew you could.

Yeah, they'll undoubtedly be here cringing, Mao hats in hands, any day now.

ESL classes, Tool, ESL classes.

But barring those, all you need to do is ask yourself what the point of your made up stupid shit post is supposed to be and then realize that my point will be the exact opposite of yours because mine is based on facts.

In this case I even linked the facts for you and you don't know how to read a chart due to your inadequate education.

What facts and what chart are you talking about?
By Clownkicker
#118279
Sorry, Tool, I thought you could retain information after you read it. My bad. I should never assume a conservative can carry facts and information with them in their brain. They rely solely on their handlers to spoon feed them as needed.

Here is the chart I linked on your "What have I been saying for the last two years about gold?" thread.

https://www.thebalance.com/us-gdp-by-year-3305543

Check out years 2014 and 2015 compared to Trump's 2017 and 2018.
The Obama economy grew every year but his first--2009--the first big year of the Bush economic disaster Obama inherited and had to fight his entire time in office. Obama then handed Trump a healthy global economy and Trump proceeded to fuck it up while failing to meet even the least of his economic promises.

Clown why are you using (thebalance.com) for your "data"? U.S. News lists it as a bias fake news site. How about using a government site to prove your point?
By Clownkicker
#118285
Tool, why don't YOU use government sites for your facts? If you can prove the chart wrong, do so.

You're free to look for yourself without your handlers' permission, but instead you desperately try to divert from the truth with finger pointing elsewhere because you can't remember what you read.

I didn't make any "crop remarks", dimwit.

Humor must be based on at least a grain of truth. Your humor always fails because it seems to be the result of some sort of rye mash.
