Democrat Bob Woodward says it was a tragedy that Mattis was fired.

Was it a tragedy when Obama fired Mattis without even a phone call?

Mattis begin to think he was the Commander in Chief and forgot his place. He announced he was going to retire in Feb 2019, and then denounced Trump's call for European allies to do more to support their own defense. Mattis then announced he would be attending a EU conference arranged by the Democrats where he would be a speaker two weeks prior to his retirement. Trump said "Hell no" your last day is advanced to December 31st you will not be speaking for the United States in front of the EU as our Secretary of Defense.

Johnnie...now you can't even get the bullshit story correct.

When you turn in a resignation and say that you are willing to stay on for however long...and your boss decides to let you go earlier that doesn't count as being fired.

As tragic as it may sound...at least if you are going to make up some bullshit story up, at least make it good bullshit.

Young Elkin, let me edify you a bit.

Mattis was fired by Obama, and that was fine.

He resigned, and that was fine, and his only error -- surprised he made it -- was launching into a criticism of his former boss on the way out the door.

Mattis should have been smarter than that. Many people do that, and it sheds no credit on them.
