So, reportedly, Clapper and Comey realized that a news hook was needed to get CNN to divulge the fake dossier.

So Comey met with Trump, told him about the dossier (but didn't mention Hillary paid 12 million for it), and then the news of the meeting was leaked, and then CNN told everybody about the fake dossier while omitting the fact that it was fake and Hillary paid for it and that it was used to wiretap Trump.

A huge amount of corruption.

Agree. Comey wanted Trump to think he was in trouble pretending the report would be damaging while leaving out the DNC and Hillary had paid for it. He told Trump about it since he knew Trump would be all over his ass for not telling him once it was released by the press.

It doesn't pass the stink test that Comey would brief Trump about the damaging report from the Russians and not think Trump would want to know the DNC and Hillary had funded it.

Surely you don't believe that a top intel guy like Clapper should have been working with the head of the FBI to prevent the election of, or impair the ability to govern of, the properly elected choice of American voters?

Crooked people in the Deep State protected Hillary, who clearly broke the law with her server, and used a fake dossier to wiretap Trump.

What the memos show is that Comey was obsessed with Trump's looks, that he told Trump he wasn't suspect of Russian collusion but maybe someone on his campaign was and that Trump asked him, if that's the case he want's Comey to do what he can to find out. How those memo's could generate a special counsel is crazy.

John, is right that whole meeting with Comey was the first step into setting Trump up. He probably was praying that Trump would ask him to cover Russian information up and make it go away, Trump didn't.
