Trump's big mistake was not doing exactly what Obama did his first week in office, clear out everyone he had the authority to clear out and replace them with his own people. I believe another purpose for the whole Russian investigation was to block Trump from firing those who needed to be fired, as long as the Russian investigation continues if Trump fires Obama's people Democrats will claim it's obstruction of justice and meant to stop the investigation. There is no doubt there will be an overlapping investigation started into Trump or his associates prior to the Russian one ending. Their goal is to keep the Obama administration in control of D.C.
