Now that the roads, communication and gas stations are shut down the mayor decides it's time to evacuate.
"We, never imagined it would be this bad, I just wished that FEMA has given us accurate information so we could have avoided this" When asked why his family and the family members of his staff had evacuate prior to the storm coming in, if he felt the city was safe, Mayor Sylvester Turner ignored the question and ended his prepared statement.

In this case Its a toss up. I have lived through an evacuation which quickly became a disaster in its self. People stuck on freeways, no food or water for days as traffic bottle necked jammed and came to a halt. In this case theres so much construction going on, on all the major roads leading out It would have quickly become a major disaster. 288 out of Galveston would have been jammed at both Beltway 8 and Beltway 6. then 45 north between Dallas and Houston would never have been able to hold the thousands of cars trying to escape. I-10 headed west was getting hammered and 1-10 east bound would have been plugged in a heart beat.

So its a real toss up and in this case Turner I think did the best he could under the circumstances. Texans are pulling together and helping out no matter who you are or what color you are. to us down here you are a human life not a political party. You would not believe how pple who have lost everything are pitching in an helping others instead of feeling sorry for themselves. PPl from all over the state and country jumped into help out. Cops and first responders are headed this way to help out.
Wheres BLM and Antifa what are they contributing besides hate.

They can rally thousands to block roads, spew hate and throw rocks, but you'll NEVER see them gathering to help anyone. If they did gather in Houston it would be to harass the police and National Guard soldiers.
