Senate agrees on new spending plan, green-lights defense hikes through next two years


Republican and Democratic Senate leaders reached an agreement Wednesday that includes a boost in spending for the Pentagon and would keep the government running past a looming deadline. The House of Representatives on Tuesday night approved the spending bill and bolster defense funding.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California had announced she would oppose the budget measure unless her chamber's GOP leaders promised a vote on legislation to protect "Dreamer" immigrants. The agreement, though, does not tackle immigration -- at a time when Congress is debating how to address those affected by the looming expiration of former President Barack Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA. President Trump had refused to make DACA a part of any budget deal and finally Democrats caved angering Pelosi and Dreamers who have threatened to take matters into their own hands to get justice.

It may be that Dems think their best strategy is to leave the DACA stuff undone.

Trump made already what seems an insane offer to give a path to 1.8 million, which would result in about 1.7 million new Democrat voters.

It's the Democrats up for re-election this year that jumped ship. They realize the majority of those who "can" vote and "will" vote care more about keeping our government operating than giving millions of illegals citizenship. They know it will piss off the illegals but they can't vote this year, so they chose voters over them. By the time they can vote they won't remember them jumping ship this year and if they do, so what they got to stay in office this go around.

Pelosi droned on today "reading" about illegals rights, their accomplishments, wants and needs for eight hours. Not one word about American citizens' rights, accomplishments wants or needs, just that American citizens need to suck it up to take care of present and future illegals. Vote the bastards out!

Pelosi stands and speaks 8 hours for illegal immigrants, but she wouldn't stand and applaud a few seconds for our veterans or military members during the State of the Union. Sad. I hope Americans took notice.
