Political discussions about everything

What attendees at the Davos hug-fest saw on Friday was a calm, controlled Donald Trump, in charge of his message, which was, simply: America is no longer your patsy. The president ticked off the accomplishments of his first year in office, offered to be a friend and trading partner to the rest of the world, but left no doubt: his job is to put America First. . Let me be clear I will ALWAYS put America first, other world leaders should also be putting their countries first, if they're not that country needs a new leader. " Several attendees came away from the speech very impressed with Trump's presentation.

As one attendee said "It's refreshing to listen to a straight talking world leader who isn't concerned about sugar coating the message, you know exactly where President Trump is coming from, he's someone you want on your side. Like him or not, he does get stuff done, just look at his accomplishments in his first year, no one would have ever thought it possible. He floored several people with his spot on speech, I come away with a new respect for your President."

No, my explanation of "Trump's success" is that it's all in his (and your) mind.
RealTool making up stupid shit is not "success".
What deals did he come away with, silly?

There aren't any reports of "Trump's success" from any reputable news source.
It's mostly just one big "yawn".

Unless you consider it a success that Trump didn't rant and rave the whole time.
I guess that IS something.

After his DAVOS speech Trump is the new world leader rock star. There was true grit and sincerity in his speech, exactly what libtards don't like, they would rather listen to someone like Obama who talks of unicorns while apologizing for Americans who are basically bad people while people outside of America are so wonderful and enlightened. This was a difference audience though, these were primarily men and woman who have actually make things happened through their own efforts, intelligent hard working people and they loved Trump. Then there were libtard media and politicians at DAVOS who just didn't get it and were offended that not once did Trump bash any Americans of any color or stature in life. He did call out the media which was awesome.

So what RealTool is trying to say is those 1000 jets on the ground have nothing to do with global warming hysterics.

Thank you for setting the AssClown Loser Tool Insipid straight on that fact, RealTool.

He should be along any time to call you names and dance for me some more.

Sadly, I put The Magic Mountain (hardback) on my "to be read" stack of books 45 years ago. (It's a literal stack, about two feet tall on the floor near my bed)

It moved with me to college, from abode to abode, city to city, onto the bookshelf, into a box, back onto the bookshelf where it currently resides, but I still haven't read it.

I WILL read it one of these days if I live long enough, but who knows when that will be?

President Trump was reportedly booed by the crowd at the World Economic Forum in Davos when he tried to slam the “vicious” and “fake” media. “As a businessman I was always treated really well by the press,” Trump said after his prepared speech. “It wasn’t until I became a politician that I realized how nasty, how mean, how vicious and how fake the press can be.” The real-estate-mogul-turned-politician received a polite applause after his prepared remarks but then began to question why he—the leader of the free world— receives so much media attention. Once he used the word “fake,” he appeared to lose the crowd entirely.
Really? He hit it out of the park? How can an "imitation President" do that. You have to have some intelligence.

LOL, he was booed by three media members from the left wing Süddeutsche Zeitung. That's a badge of honor dude! The crowd went wild when Trump took the stage and gave him a standing ovation when he completed his speech, he was the only speaker to receive one. He got a standing ovation and he didn't even have to talk bad about Americans to receive it.

Merkel even admitted that Trump had made her question why she had never thought of security at the border.

However, I have the answer for her.

It is because, despite her doctorate, she is a total idiot who has ruined Germany.

While Trump is belly aching to the elites over at DAVOS about fake news.

There have been hundreds of job layoffs at the Carrier plant...jobs that Trump claimed that he had personally saved.

I suppose Trump isn't going to be making any follow up visits to Carrier to boast and brag about saving all of those jobs.

So according to Johnnie's logic they construct air conditioners in the summer for people who will need them in the winter?
Elk, you do realize it's all about supply and demand don't you? Or do you think it takes months to build an air conditioner?

This perfectly illustrates why conservatives have so much trouble understanding global climate change.

You morons do realize that it is hot right now in some other parts of the world, right?
Just because you personally are cold in your neighborhood doesn't mean it isn't sweltering in Colombia or Hawaii or North Africa. Carrier sells around the world. And there is demand somewhere around the world 365 days a year. The entire southern hemisphere is experiencing summer right now, dummies.

Fer cripes sake, would you clowns buy a globe and LOOK at it already?
Then think about GLOBAL climate change and what that means outside of your microscopic worlds.
#99347
You morons do realize that it is hot right now in some other parts of the world, right?
Always has been that way, what's your point?

What you're trying to do is divert from Trump's astonishing success at Davos, dude it's not working. Every month that passes, proves Trump is proving to be one of the best Presidents in history. Stocks are up 45% since he was elected, the economy rocks, ISIS has been demolished and our nuclear threats are finally being addressed. Top it off, America is once again respected around the world and no longer seen as a patsy. :D
#99352
The point is the demand for air conditioners is pretty much constant globally.

You and johnforbes were pretending that our local winter weather somehow slows down a global company. It doesn't.

But more than that, elklindo was trying to get you dunces to understand that Trump isn't going to the Carrier plant because the jobs he 'saved' left the country anyway and there's no one there to posture for any longer.

There is no need to divert from Trump's "astonishing success" at Davos because there WAS no astonishing success there.
Trump never got a standing ovation as you keep pretending. You think if you say it enough times it will become true, but it won't.

Trump did get some applause from a bunch of CEOs who just got a huge gift from the tax cuts, but they simply realize that if you're rich and you applaud Trump he will keep giving you stuff. No one tells Trump the truth any more. They know he's vindictive and pouty as a child. Guys like Macron know that they can play him with flattery and use him like a puppet for their own ends.

At Davos Trump went publicly begging for trade deals with the very countries he snubbed by opting out of the TPP. But he got nothing at the Forum. I guess you could call that "astonishing" that no one wants to do deals with America any more.
Unfortunately, America is not respected any longer around the world. That's why they are all going their own ways now without us and turning to China and Russia instead for leadership.

No we talked of supply and demand, air conditioners are in more demand during the summer, thus they ramp up production during the high demand season. If you knew anything about the economy or had ever managed a business you would grasp that concept. More and more business are managing based on production upon demand.

It's exactly why are economy is thriving under Trump who understands business and why he impressed the Davos crowds.

You dimwits just made the argument against your position.

The Carrier plant we're talking about didn't make air conditioners.
They made furnaces, and this is winter when presumably the demand is high.

So why wouldn't Trump go there to brag about saving the jobs now, johnny?

It's obvious that you know nothing about inventory and supply chain and inventory management. Businesses don't ramp up production during high demand season. And I'll tell you why...

In order to manufacture an air conditioner:

1. The manufacturer has to order the raw materials (parts) from their suppliers. Manufacturers don't like to keep parts in inventory, because it's costs money and takes up valuable space to keep them in warehouses and they depreciate in value the longer you keep it there.

2. When the manufacturer receives the parts, they need to be inspected and released to production.

3. After production then the finished product needs to be tested and released out to distributors.

4. Finally product hits retail.

That whole process takes many months. So if you order an air conditioner in the middle of summer, it's coming out of the retailers inventory. AC manufacturers ramp up production before peak season not during it.

No CEO in their right mind would manufacture an AC unit in during peak season. If their product is not in inventory then a customer is not going to wait in the sweltering heat for product...they will go to a competitor. And that results in plummeting sales and bankruptcies....something Trump knows very well!!!

"Trump hits a home run in Davos and now in his State of the Union. Some like time politicians are floored by his astonishing performance as President...and he doesn't even pretend to be political."-RealStool

You're right, Tool, he doesn't bother pretending any more.
He's so blatantly political about everything it's embarrassing.

Watch out about overplaying your hand of lies, dummy.
