Political discussions about everything

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Federal Bureau of Investigation has said they can't turn over all the texts Congress requested because five months worth of text messages were deleted and can't be retrieved.

Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson, who chairs the Senate Homeland Security Committee, revealed in a Jan. 20 letter that the FBI failed to preserve texts that were exchanged between Lisa Page, a lawyer, and Peter Strzok, an agent, between mid-December 2016 through mid-May of 2017, which are the critical months of the Russian investigation.

A spokesman for the FBI and a spokeswoman for the Justice Department declined to comment when asked how records that are supposed to retained, could be accidentally erased.
Pass the popcorn, there's your intentional obstruction of justice! :D

The FBI mysteriously “failed to preserve” five months of text messages between a senior FBI agent who worked on special counsel Robert Mueller’s Trump-Russia investigation and his mistress, an FBI lawyer.

Woah, what?
The Department of Justice made the disclosure in a letter to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Friday, according to the Daily Caller. The letter states that FBI systems didn’t preserve text messages between FBI agent Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page.

“The Department wants to bring to your attention that the FBI’s technical system for retaining text messages sent and received on FBI mobile devices failed to preserve text messages for Mr. Strzok and Ms. Page,” the letter states. Stephen Boyd, the assistant attorney general for legislative affairs, penned the letter.

Citing “misconfiguration issues related to rollouts, provisioning, and software upgrades that conflicted with the FBI’s collection capabilities,” Boyd explained that “data that should have been automatically collected and retained for long-term storage and retrieval was not collected.”
That's it. The deep state starts to unravel tomorrow.

You can bet your bottom dollar that the emails of FBI agent Peter Strzok's and FBI lawyer Lisa Page's aren't the only ones that have been erased, we only know about those because Congress demanded for months the emails of those two, I'm betting the emails were erased right after Congress's requests and the reason they've dragged their feet for months. How odd that the emails missing are right after Trump became President and during the period of Mueller's investigation. This stuff just doesn't happen by chance. It's clear the FBI and DOJ leadership would rather face the consequences of erasing the emails than what was in those emails. Time to break out the polygraph machines.

Why did Hillary delete 33,000 emails under subpoena then bleach the server?

To hide the trail of evidence.

The 5 months here are the crucial ones -- after the election through May 2017.

Come on, nobody will believe that this was accidental, will they?

And "misconfiguration" related to "rollouts," somebody was burning the midnight oil coming up with that, eh?

They used to brag that it was the best law enforcement agency in the world, so did any of them think to request the texts from the cell phone provider for the federal phones?
They think the public is stupid. Like I said this is going to make a good movie and everyone is going to be shocked by the amazing arrogance of the Obama Administration. Trump's win was never a consideration, the deep State "HAS" to do everything in their power to bring Trump down or else hundreds of them go to prison. They are now so desperate that they're claiming they have no record of government communications that happened over a 5 month period starting from the day Mueller's investigation kicked off.

Watch for suicides!

But they didn't say the texts were "lost" johnny.

They said the texts weren't retained by their phone system. That was true.
It was true for the FBI and also the other agencies using the same phone system.
That doesn't make it some vast conspiracy, dummy, and it certainly doesn't make it some conspiracy by the FBI.
It means the phone system didn't work very well.

No one in the FBI would ever think you could simply delete texts from their phones and the texts would disappear forever.
The FBI knows perfectly well that the texts could be retrieved from the larger system. They know this because they investigate texts of criminals all the time.

The FBI didn't delete the texts. The phone system just didn't retain them.
How you numbnuts get to an FBI conspiracy from that is just naive and idiotic.

Nobody was talking about a "vast conspiracy."

It will turn out that 12 to 15 people conspired to protect Hillary and frame Trump.

This is extremely disturbing because it means that, in 2016, America had the same sort of law enforcement and justice system one might find in a Banana Dictatorship where the caudillo controlled all.
