Flynn actually DID get paid by Russia as a foreign agent.

"The Right" actually wielding government power against people is simply not the same as "The Left" investigating possible abuse and corruption.

That's what the Fourth Estate does, has always done, and what you have always wanted them to do.

What McCarthy did is not theoretical or hypothetical.
You can turn off your TV and not read a newspaper. You can't just turn off a prison term, financially ruinous fine, or career black-balling.
Kushner is making more money now than before this brouhaha. And if there is no evidence against him, then his future is brighter than ever, "Left Wing" media or no "Left Wing" media.
A lot of McCarthy's victims never recovered, financially or career wise.
A 'threat' from the media is not even close to an actual threat from the government.

The most extreme case outcome of this situation is that Trump would be impeached and removed from office, in which case Pence would become President.
It wouldn't be sudden, it wouldn't be violent, it wouldn't be illegal, and it wouldn't be seizing power from the legitimate government.
