Political discussions about everything

Tool, aside from the fact that Gore never said what you're pretending he said in your fabricated quotation, and that when he did talk about the "possibility" of summer ice being gone, he was not talking about predictions from "95% of the world's scientists [he] referenced" rather, he was only talking about the most aggressive predictions by a few scientists, then your idiotic post has merit.

And that merit is that it makes for hilarious reading about the stupidity and gullibility of the typical Trump supporter.
#90989
And before namandgulfdumfuck hypocritically jumps on me and let's RealTool's made up stupid shit slide without accusing him of pulling it out of his ass (which he did) here's a link to the relevant part of the 2008 speech:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFmqtkeQy9c

Watch time stamp :40 to :48 where he actually says "the entire North Polar ice cap may well be completely gone in five years."

He said "may well be" and he was talking about summer ice and the views of only a few scientists at the time; not "95%" of scientists.

The comrade AssClown goes into a frenzy when someone does THE EXACT SAME THING HE DOES on a daily basis when he cherry picks information to make up his silly ass word games.

Fact is Gore and all the rest of the climate hysterics were strongly implying life as we know it was about over unless we did something RIGHT NOW!!! All the while thirty years before those same hysterics were strongly warning us of the impending ice age.

Can't have it both ways comrade AssClown.
#91001
^^^^^^The AssClown Steppinfetchit Insipid goes into a frenzy trying to distract from RealTool's lie about what Gore said when presented with positive proof he lied.

"Can't have it both ways comrade AssClown."-AssClownSteppinfetchit

You sure can't, AssClown Insipid. He lied, and you can't pretend he didn't.

The AssClown Loser Marxist Tool goes into an emoticon spewing frenzy but cannot refute the fact that Gore is a lying global warming hysteric or that the hysterical claims by these same idiots about the coming ice age were also lies designed to more big government control over citizens.
#91009
The AssClown Steppinfetchit Loser Tool Insipid is too stupid to understand that this thread is not about what Gore is or isn't. (Read the title, dimwit.)
It's about RealTool being a lying sack of shit. It's about a discussion that begins with a lie.

But The AssClown Insipid doesn't care that I have proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that RealTool is a liar and the premise of this discussion is a lie.
The AssClown Insipid is just fine with it because RealTool is our own Alex Jones, the partisan hack who makes up stupid shit for a living, whom the AssClown Steppinfetchit Insipid doesn't care is a liar either.
As long as the lies are in the service of his partisan beliefs, the ends justify the means to the AssClown Insipid.

There is no lie too great, no crime too terrible, no attack on the Constitution too grievous, that the AssClown Steppinfetchit Insipid won't support it, as long as it's his guy doing it.
He will attack the guy who brings the news of the corruption of his brethren and ignore the criminal sitting beside him.
He will spit and spew and rant and rave, attacking the messenger whose message he can't refute.

He IS the AssClown Steppinfetchit Slack-jawed Punk Bitch Urinal Hypocrite Insipid.

Hedging their bets.

From The IJR:
If the climate alarmists weren't still so politically powerful and represented in Congress by their devoted cult members, it would almost be easy to pity them. Why? Because they're so spectacularly wrong about so many things.

They keep the hype coming regardless, as in this article that cites the fact that it's hot in the desert in the summertime to say that air travel may be doomed.

But science, or something.

The cult's leader — Al Gore — said in 2009 that there was a 75 percent chance that the entire arctic polar ice cap would melt by 2014.

It's still there.

The year before the North Pole was supposed to be gone, noted climate scientist Hans von Storch went against cult orthodoxy in an interview with Spiegel Online in 2013 and had some interesting things to say about the climate prediction models so revered by the alarmists.

After noting that “climate change seems to be taking a break,” von Storch had this to say about the models:

“If things continue as they have been, in five years, at the latest, we will need to acknowledge that something is fundamentally wrong with our climate models. A 20-year pause in global warming does not occur in a single modeled scenario. But even today, we are finding it very difficult to reconcile actual temperature trends with our expectations.”

He followed that up with this after being asked what might be wrong with the models:

There are two conceivable explanations — and neither is very pleasant for us. The first possibility is that less global warming is occurring than expected because greenhouse gases, especially CO2, have less of an effect than we have assumed. This wouldn't mean that there is no man-made greenhouse effect, but simply that our effect on climate events is not as great as we have believed. The other possibility is that, in our simulations, we have underestimated how much the climate fluctuates owing to natural causes.

After so many swings and misses while attempting to predict doomsday as being just around the corner, the alarmists have decided to provide themselves a little cover:

For those of you who love lobsters, crabs, mussels. oysters, etc., enjoy them while you can. The acidification of the oceans due to humans dumping CO2 into the oceans (and the atmosphere) is increasing at a rate never before seen in the earth's history. Since 1980 (yes, 1980) the Ph of the oceans has dropped .1. Since this is logarithmic, a tenth of a point is huge. This is why a 6.3 earthquake is much stronger than a 6.2 earthquake. We are already seeing the decrease of certain sea populations.

Science would be a lot more fun if it wasn't for all of those facts wouldn't it?

Well global warming didn't pan out for the wackies so now they're going to try and say man is killing off the world's lobsters, crabs, mussels. oysters...but if we increase taxes on ourselves to provide to their ventures there's a slight chance they won't all die off by 2020.

Juwstme, what in the hell is wrong with you? Don't you have any thoughts of your own? Do you have to rely on the Kock Brothers talking points all of the time? Are so you totally ignorant of science hat you automatically reject anything that science studies?

As for me changing from CO2 in the atmosphere to CO2 in the oceans; the oceans suck up CO2 (but not enough of it) and that makes the oceans acidic. Just since 1980 there has been a tremendous increase in ocean acidity. The coral reefs are dying and there is a marked decrease in ocean shellfish. Don't you realize that all life on earth is symbiotic? Just because you doubt science doesn't change the outcome of human actions.

The fact remains the predictions and warnings by the global warming crowd never materialized. So now they make up new predictions and warn us this time it's for real. Anyone who still believes in their predictions are idiots.

The Sixth Extinction" by Elizabeth Kolbert
Hate to break this to you dude, but man wouldn't have been able to stop the previous 5 extinctions.

If the sun farts, we're screwed, so how do we keep the sun from farting? I'm betting if we raises taxes to fund "special" projects and give them unlimited money and just trust them, they could save us.

Be happy, have fun, stop worrying about something you can't control. If you want to live longer, eat right, exercise, everything in moderation and avoid risks as best you can.
#91155
Snakeoil, that's twice on this thread you suggested that Trump voters were uneducated or couldn't read.

Isn't that just the typical Left Wing notion that anybody with a different opinion is less educated or is racist?

Anybody who has actually read a history of science would know that almost every new thinker struggled against a Scientific Establishment which labored under the illusion that it knew all.

Why was Copernicus concerned about publishing?

Why was Galileo before the Inquisition?

Why was Einstein scoffed at before that critical test?

I wonder if they know something we don't?

The Pentagon says that global warming is one of our most pressing problems.

Germany gets 85% of its energy from renewable sources.

37% of Norway's new cars are electric. In 8 years 100% will be electric.

To Justme:

I agree with your point on the past extinctions. One problem. we are causing this one.
#91171
The Pentagon says that global warming is one of our most pressing problems.
That was under Obama, now that the Pentagon is under Trump, the most pressing problems the Pentagon will face is North Korea and Iran. By the way, even the IRA under Obama said global warming was their number one concern.
I agree with your point on the past extinctions. One problem. we are causing this one.
Dude, that's funny.

Justme Dude, you underestimate the impact humans have on the planet.

a. In the 1890s Svante Arrhenius proved that burning fossil fuels would lead to a warmer world.

b. Exxon came to the same conclusion in the 1960s.

c. E. O. Wilson and Robert MacArthu8r proved it again in the 1960s.

d. The CO2 levels are the highest in millions of years. (Approx. 15 million years ago.)

e. Warming is progressing faster than at any time in history.
f. Man is even affecting flora and fauna.

g. An invasive seaweed is causing havoc in the Mediterranean. It has been traced to an aquarium release of the seaweed. Recently a large patch of the seaweed was discovered in an Alaska harbor, probably from a bilge tank release..

h. Plantain, which I'm sure everyone has seen came over from Europe, probably on cargo. NATIVE AMERICANS CALLED IN "THE WHITE MAN'S FOOTPRINTS.)

i. Multi flora rose, a wildly invasive plant came from Asia.

j. Most of the grasses that we prize for our lawns came from some place else. Dandelions and garlic mustard also came from Europe. Queen Anne's lace, burdock and oriental bittersweet are also invaders.

k. The white nose fungus that is killing off our bats came from Europe where their species of bat has become largely immune to the fungus.

l. Japanese beetles were discovered in a shipment of plants from Asia. The beetles numbered about 12.

j. The kudzu vine was imported from Korea as a feed plant for livestock. Ask any Southerner about kudzu.

I could go on and on but the science is there. Man is making a huge impact on the planet and we must be a bit more aware of our actions.
#91194
Assume, arguendo, that anthropogenic global warming is a fact.

Even in that scenario, the problem occurs that a smug, partisan politician such as Al Gore (with zero credentials in science) is getting rich on the agenda.

When one political viewpoint -- in the instant case, the Left Wing -- declares that it has a monopoly on scientific certitude, then a reasonable person becomes skeptical.
#91199
Justme Dude, you underestimate the impact humans have on the planet.
No I don't, the more than 15 illegals in our country are soaking up social resources meant for citizens, traffic is horrible and many of our large cities stink. Humans suck dude but liberal elites are the worse!

We can do a lot to clean up the United States starting by sending humans that don't belong here home (liberal elites need them though for their votes so they can milk us dry). Private jets should be outlawed and the United Nations sent home and forced to hold their meetings over skype. D.C should be drained and our politicians also be forced to hold their meetings over skype in the State from which they were elected. Fat cat elites (most liberal) jet set around while telling the little people we "CAN'T" eat what we want, have our SUV's or warm our houses to 70's degrees, the rest of the world won't put up with it, because "WE" are destroying the earth so must sacrifice and give them money because they know what to do with it to save us. No one in government should have a better health plan or more benefits than the people paying for their perks and salaries. Fuckum dude, don't buy into their bullshit.
#91217
Every time there is some climate conference, pious Left Wingers fly there on private jets and then get in limos to attend.

I still want to know why Al Gore, a "C" student in media studies who dropped out of law school with failing grades, is a scientific "expert."
