Told you this was just another chess move by Trump, liberal keeps losing.
CNN is facing universal backlash on Wednesday after running an article on the Reddit user who made an anti-CNN, wrestling-themed GIF tweeted by President Trump over the weekend. CNN Tweet “CNN is not publishing ‘HanA**holeSolo’s’ name because he is a private citizen who has issued an extensive statement of apology, showed his remorse by saying he has taken down all his offending posts, and because he said he is not going to repeat this ugly behavior on social media again,” the article stated. “…CNN reserves the right to publish his identity should any of that change.”
Many were shocked by the threat of “doxing” a private citizen who posts something CNN doesn't like– publicly sharing private details about a person if they don't apologize, take down all posts and never do it again.
German Lopez, a reporter for left-leaning Vox, tweeted: “I can’t emphasize how bad this is on CNN’s part. This is basically ‘don’t post stuff we don’t like or we’ll dox you.’ Extremely unethical.”
WikiLeaks tweeted, "Trump was bad. CNN is far worse: CNN threatens amateur satirist behind Trump video: make fun of us again and we dox you."
Nationally syndicated radio host Dana Loesch wrote: "The optics of going after people on Independence Day simply for making memes. And some wonder why people are frustrated with media."
Since the CNN threat was posted, many social media users also have created dozens of other GIFs of Trump bashing, brawling and scuffling with a humanoid CNN logo.
CNN meant to make an example of the dude, "make fun of CNN and we'll come after you" but it backlashed and now CNN is the prime target of social media users and the MEMEs and GIFs are rolling out. Several have challenged CNN to try and threaten or out their identities, as one woman said "bring it on CNN, I need the money"
The dude who was threatened by CNN and forced to apologize has been contacted by several attorneys wanting to represent him in a lawsuit.
