Political discussions about everything

I enjoy reading the insane posts of the extreme left-wing and extreme right-wing posters who appear to have tunnel vision as to what is happening in the world. Our members appear to disregard what the future might bring and the massive problems just over the horizon. Do I detect a case of "I want to get mine now; the hell with everyone else?"

The first site I want to direct you to is a study of when your job will be totally gone. (Spoiler alert-by 2049 all novels will be written by artificial intelligence driven computers. In 125 years from now all jobs will be done by AI.) I invite you to consider what changes have to be made in our systems to accommodate these technology advances.

I happen to believe the work of climate scientists that say global warming is a fact and that man is the cause of it. This site gives a look at the world that is 4 degrees Celsius warmer than today as climate scientists predict. Again I invite you to reflect on the impact to mankind if these changes happen.

Note to Democrats and Republicans-Maybe we should be considering working for the betterment of mankind rather than fighting tooth and nail about issues that will have a short shelf life.

None of the Left Wing people actually believe what they say anyhow.

Does Merkel really believe that importing a million Islamics will help Germany or Europe? Come on, that's absurd and everybody knows it.

Do Democrats in America really believe that 12 million illegal immigrants help America in some way? They know better.

The reality is that the Left Wing hates the status quo and wants to change it pursuant to some sociology textbook vision of "diversity."

But diversity is worthless because it means there is no national unity.

Is everybody out for themselves? Of course.

Are the noble and idealistic Clintons and Obamas wealthy themselves and looking to get wealthier? Yep.

LOL. What the fuck are you worried about 125 years from now for?

At least we will have those jobs that AI cannot do....jobs perfect for Clown-types, and Elk-types and Dog-types....you know...shoveling shit.

Obama..."Shovel ready jobs" LOL!

See, snake, this is what you're up against. This is what the world's up against.

These guys honestly don't understand that they can't discuss issues beyond their narrow political prejudices.

And they're among the 'best' of them. The 'worst' of them are downright depressing.

Incidentally, I read three articles from the site and all three contained glaring typos.
That's also worrisome if they represent some of the 'best' we have to offer.

Note to liberals: Those like Clown care about bad grammar and spelling more then man kind. Those like Clown the Marxist want power, job killing taxes so everything can be "FREE", they want globalism where anyone can come and go.

They dont or cant grasp the ramification and destruction of any of this...

The entire OP is hogwash. There is no way, now, to predict events in 125 years, or how future discoveries will impact the course of events, for good or bad.
Sometime in the late 1800s someone advocated closing the patent office because, "Everything that can be invented has been invented."
Plus, when someone tells me they are all in on the global warming hoax, well, they put themselves in a certain category.

the planet will take care of itself.....even if it means it has to extinguish the entire human race.
just another extinct species..... :o

If Clown ever becomes coherent long enough to remember where he lost his shovel...
He can use it to dig his own grave...the planet will appreciate it !

"When I encounter a form asking my present occupation, I enter "bon vivant.""-johnforbes

Just last week you were attacking Gore Vidal for that very thing.

Has anyone noticed johnforbes appeared on the internet at precisely the time Vidal 'died' ?

And johnny claims he was in Southeast Asia, too.

Mere coincidence? Did anyone actually look in the casket before it was buried?

The part of Italy where he lived for years is spectacularly beautiful.

And I've been to Thailand many times over the past 4 decades.

But neither for the dark, demented, disturbing reasons as that weird, warped, wordy wonk.

Once again the message is lost. I really doubt that many visited the sites. I agree that predicting the world 125 years from now is iffy but just look at the last 30 years. Cell phones were big as a brick and tethered to your car, computers were big and had 256 k, laptops were a dream, software was expensive and it was impossible to have two programs open at once or your computer would crash, coal was king and almost all of our electricity was generated by coal, oil was predicted to be gone within twenty years, only super costly printers printed full characters as most printed mostly dot matrix, AI was considered far in the future, hacking was unknown. Most of the latest technology things we use today would be considered almost impossible thirty years ago.

The point of my OP is that Congress has an important and extremely complex job and they should be working on preparing for the future instead of jockeying for position all of the time. I posted a while back that 46% of today's jobs will be gone by 2030. Go on YouTube and watch the videos of huge agricultural machinery being run by computers with little human interaction. They are turned on and they do their job.
