Political discussions about everything

Well the Dems have made it possible for Trump to stuff the Supreme Court with conservatives of the next 8 years. The goal now should be to find replacements for Ginsburg and Sotomayor, Ginsburg can no longer change her own diaper she's in such bad health and Sotomayor's cancer has returned, she's missed 60% of the hearings over the last 3 months.

Once we have the Supreme Court we can overturn all the bad laws and push through the conservative agenda with no one to stop us. ;) I love it when the shoe is on the other foot. Let's start kicking some asses.

Schumer made a terrible strategic mistake.

This assures that all future nominations will be more "political" and less "consensus" in nature.

This will also harm the Supreme Court, as did bad decisions such as Roberts pretending the individual mandate was a tax when everybody (including Obama) reiterated it was not.

SCHUMER made a mistake?

Republicans did this and did it with free intent, johnny. Nobody held a gun to their heads.

They could have followed the law last year when they had the Constitutional obligation to confirm or reject Garland.
They chose to spit on the Constitution instead. But you don't care about that.

Now Republicans simply spit on the Senate and Supreme Court as well, which is a simple matter once you have spit on the Constitution.

Criminy, johnny, Schumer likely believed Gorsuch WAS qualified. That has nothing to do with the Republican's contempt for the Constitution last year, their contempt for the Senate now, and their contempt for the Supreme Court in the future.

They could have done the right thing last year. They didn't.
They could have done the right thing now. They didn't.
And like the children they are, they are blaming everyone but themselves for the things they do.

You can't keep blaming everyone else for the stuff the Republicans do right in front of your face, johnny.
Nobody made them do this, unless you are saying they are all impotent pawns of the Democrats.
They did it because they chose to do it. You saw them do it freely by choice.

Until you understand that simple fact, johnny, you are doomed to be nothing but a partisan Republican dupe.

There was no Constitutional obligation to confirm or reject Garland. Are you saying Obama and the Democrats weren't aware of that Law and chose to ignore it? What idiots. Once again it proves how stupid libtards are.

It had been tradition (still is) to allow the new president to nominate.

Obama's nominee Garland, well, nobody was fooled by that maneuver, and no Democrat expected anybody to be fooled.

Throughout 2016, only a few polls such as the accurate Daybreak one predicted Trump's win, so all year Democrats were very happy that the seat remained open for Hillary to fill.

Harry Reid made the gigantic error of thinking Dems would always been in power, so he went nuclear in 2013.

But Dems had shown, with Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas, that they would go to any length to turn the Senate from a deliberative body into rabid partisanship.

I do not like what Mitch McConnell did, but what other option did he have?

Gorsuch is so mainstream a candidate that I doubt he'll turn out to be a genuine conservative over the long haul.

But Schumer was too partisan to see that, and he chose to fight instead of cooperate today and pick a better fight later.

Garland was never going to be the nominee. He was just a place holder.
The reason the Dems and Democrats didn't push Garland into the position is that President Hillary would be selecting Obama for it. Obama would set for life to ignore the Constitution and see the laws the way he wanted them to be. To bad, so sad...it didn't work.
