Congress, in their wisdom, has allowed the Internet providers to sell your browsing history without your knowledge or consent. If you think that you got too many emails in the past, just wait until spammers know everywhere you have been on the Internet.

For years I have been using a search engine that provides absolute search engine privacy. It is IXquick. IXquick does not record your searches. It is so good that it exceeds European requirements for search engine privacy. Simply go to the website for IXquick and download the search engine and make it your home page. IXquich bills itself as the world's most private search engine.

Like typical ignorant conservatives, you pretend to value the 4th Amendment, but have no problem giving away your privacy to private companies to sell your personal information and make money off you without your knowledge. In fact, you cheer on your elected representatives to do it instead of being outraged at them.

They can only collect information in your browser that's in the browser. We went over your head when we explained our browser history is deleted every time we close it. Justme...You don't understand how they collect info on you. As soon as you click on a site the IP records your actions. Then, under the new law, that info belongs to them to do whatever they want to with it. There is no reason for this new law other than to provide a new revenue stream for the IP. In other words, the IPs are telling you that your info is their property. The fact that you paid for the Internet service means nothing to them, they want more.

Go to IXquick.com and download the browser to regain some of your privacy.

Of course they do, but if you clear your browser history prior to clicking on them, all they see is that you visited them. That's why I have my browser set to delete browser history every time I close, I never go from one site to another without closing the browser first, I start with a blank history when I reopen it.

Unfortunately the sites themselves have nothing to do with it...
This new law is aimed at the ISPs.....that is, the service providers like AT&T, Comcast, Verizon, etc.
The ISPs have many ways of collecting browsing histories..one of them is monitoring the
sites and collecting the the information directly from them...and don'f forget the ISPs also
provide the service you iphone..... :o

I just hope the President sees this is just more government regulation and vetoes the bill...

Dude, that's how the web works. No ISP no web. If your browser history is empty when you visit a site, all they know about you is your ISP and that you visited them. If you don't clear your browser, and they're the type that collect that information, they will have your browser history going back to the last time you cleared it. Set your browser up to clear it's self every time it's closed and it limits the data collected on you (unless you have a virus or worm, then your screwed). It's really that simple dude.

It isn't the websites you visit that are being given ownership of your history, dummy.
It's the ISP itself, which you just admitted has all your browsing information, no matter what you do with the browsing history on your computer.
Your ISP is the one that's going to take ownership of and make money from selling your personal information.
All you're doing is erasing your cookies, (which is a good thing to do) but it is beside the point of the law, you imbecile.

Clown are you admitting you don't use a VPN? Even going through VPN you have to be careful of your DNS setting, if you're using windows (most of us are) unless you change the DNS setting it'll use the default one which in most cases is your most cases your ISP's DNS.

So use a VPN, make sure the DNS setting is correct, insure your browser is set to delete your browsing history upon closing and those simple precautions makes you about as safe as possible as long as your avoid worms and viruses, a good virus program in a good thing to have.
