CNN)House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes set off a stunning new political controversy Wednesday by revealing that communications of President Donald Trump and associates may have been picked up after the election by intelligence agencies conducting surveillance of foreign targets.

Nunes hurried to the White House to personally brief Trump on the revelations, after talking to the press but without sharing the information with Democrats. His Democratic counterpart on the committee -- Rep. Adam Schiff of California -- warned that his colleague had cast a "profound ****" over their effort to investigate Russian attempts to interfere in the election.

A Republican source with knowledge of the situation claimed the information that Nunes talked about was from the intelligence community and not the White House. The source said Nunes was "steaming" about what he read.

I told those that doubted what Trump said not to under estimate him, because he wins every time. The man never fails to amaze with his spot on predictions. Guess that explains why he's a billionaire, the dude is really, really smart.

During an explosive press conference outside the White House, Nunes told reporters that communications from the Trump team were picked up and disseminated within the government during the 2016 campaign. Nunes said sources within the intelligence community presented him with the information. He spoke to the press after briefing the administration.

"We don’t actually know yet officially what happened to General Flynn," Nunes said of how communications from Gen. Flynn's calls were leaked to the press. "We just know that his name leaked out but we don't know how it was picked up yet. That was one of the things that we asked for in the March 15th letter, was for the NSA, CIA, and FBI to get us all the unmasking that was done."

"And I'll tell you, NSA is being cooperative," Nunes continued, "but so far the FBI has not told us whether or not they’re going to respond to our March 15th letter, which is now a couple of weeks old.”

Nunes also reported that as of now, he "cannot rule out" President Obama ordering the surveillance.

And contrary to earlier media reports, Nunes clarified that the surveillance was not related to the FBI's investigation into possible collusion with Russia. This surveillance, he emphasized to reporters, does not "have anything to do with Russia."

This has the Congressional DonkeyRats in a total uproar. Elijah Cummings is about to pop a vein over the possibility that Trump is correct. Now he's calling for Nunes to be investigated!

Cummings has been yelling the public have a right to know what Trump and his campaign may have said to the Russians but once information is released that show Trump was right all along, Cummings wants criminal charges brought against the Senator for telling Americans. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Yes, they called it "wiretapping," and the last such article was on the front page of the Times on 1/20/17.

We have all known for over a decade that the NSA collected almost everything on everybody under Stellar Wind.

I found it odd that the Left wanted to pretend Barry didn't wiretap when clearly he had already wiretapped Merkel, Hollande, Bibi, journalists such as James Rosen and Sharyl Atkisson, and even wiretapped Dennis Kucinich.

But Jake Tapper and Cuomo and other geniuses just blundered ahead and made fools of themselves.
