Two strikes on Trump...

Trump’s revised travel ban was dealt another legal setback Thursday when a federal judge in Maryland rejected the prohibition against six predominantly Muslim countries.

The ruling near the nation’s capital was the latest blow to Trump’s ban, with a federal judge in Hawaii rejecting the measure on Wednesday. Both judges cited Trump’s own words as evidence of his intent in issuing the new plan.

On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Derrick Watson in Honolulu criticized what he called the “illogic” of the government’s arguments and cited “significant and unrebutted evidence of religious animus” behind the travel ban. He also noted that while courts should not examine the “veiled psyche” and “secret motives” of government decision-makers, “the remarkable facts at issue here require no such impermissible inquiry.”

Watson also wrote, referring to a statement Trump issued as a candidate, “For instance, there is nothing ‘veiled’ about this press release: ‘Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.’”

There's no surprise in any of this.

Leftist judges want more illegal immigrants, more uncheckable Syrians.

They look at the anarchy of sanctuary cities, see that laws they don't like are not enforced, and they like the anarchy.

One of the judges ignored the text of the order, but claimed Trump had said "Ban Muslims" at a rally one time.

What a judge -- ignore the text of the order under review, and rule based on something else.

To judge the Executive Order, the judge had to understand its intent, johnny. What is it supposed to accomplish?
Even a 2L dropout like yourself should know this.

Trump told us its intent, repeatedly. Trump himself interpreted the text for the judge.

Later Trump went on TV at a rally and admitted the second order was merely a "watered down version" of the first order.
The first was a Muslim ban. The second was a slightly weaker Muslim ban. Trump said so himself.

No, you are totally wrong.

The judges are being partisan and unfair.

Any president has crystal clear statutory authority to issue such immigration orders.

Were it otherwise, any federal judge could essentially act as president.

In the case of Hawaii, it never took in people from the nations in question anyhow.

John Roberts lost his reputation over his 2 nutty rulings on Obamacare, but of course these two never had reputations except for leftist partisanship.

Trump said that he would ban Muslims from entering the country. So his order is a Muslim ban.

Or is that fake news that Trump will deny and Spicer will "reinterpret" at some point"?

What those 2 judges did was intolerable.

They ignored the issue in front of them, then ruled on unrelated prior matters and their own political beliefs.

This means the Left has openly political judges just as it had a politicized IRS.
