Political discussions about everything

I can't wait forever for RealTool to get bored with football and irrelevant book deals of former Presidents and finally get to posting about some of the actual important stuff going on in this country.
So johnny, could Flynn's foreign agency from September to November last year be a reason for a possible FISA warrant request last October that you pretend targeted Trump Tower?
When Trump takes five minutes and bothers to actually pick up the phone and ask if such a warrant exists, then he can tell us about it, right?

"Flynn resigned in February after just four weeks as national security adviser when it came to light that he had misled the vice-president, Mike Pence, about phone conversations with the Russian ambassador about sanctions in December. The resignation came after a flow of intelligence leak s revealed that he had secretly discussed sanctions with the ambassador, Sergey Kislyak, and then tried to cover up the conversations.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that from September to November last year, while he was working as a top adviser to Trump’s presidential campaign, Flynn was lobbying for a firm linked to the Turkish government, earning $530,000. He and his company Flynn Intel Group Inc filed retroactive documents with the Department of Justice two days ago to register as a foreign agent.
Under the Foreign Agent Registration Act, US citizens who lobby on behalf of foreign governments or political entities must disclose their work to the justice department. Willfully failing to register is a felony,..."-The Guardian

Not only did Trump have 6 people on his staff inside the White House who couldn't pass an FBI background check and had to be "escorted" out of the building, but he appointed a felonious paid foreign agent as his National Security Adviser.
They claim Trump didn't know about this, which only proves Trump doesn't even bother to vet his own appointments to top jobs in his administration.

Any "thoughts" johhny?

FISA warrants are probably fairly secret, but I do think Trump's attny should be able to gain access to them.

As to what transpired, the first request for a FISA wiretap came after Trump got the nomination.

That right there is a scandal, but that warrant apparently had Trump himself as the target and was denied as inappropriate.

If the reporting is correct, Loretta Lynch got a FISA and general warrants in October aimed at Trump's people, including Paul Manafort and Carter Page and a couple others.

They tapped his server, which was outside the Tower (not in it as previously thought), but found no link to Russia.

Apparently the general warrant was part of a wider probe of possible Russian inappropriate influence and supposedly it only tangentially dealt with Trump.

All in all, it was -- if these details leaked are correct -- just like Watergate in that those in power were tapping potential political foes in order to halt them.

On the question of Flynn himself, it is an interesting question.

He did not initially register as a foreign agent because the firm that hired him was not a foreign government. But the lawyer, Robert K. Kelner, said Mr. Flynn had decided to register after the fact because “the engagement could be construed to have principally benefited the Republic of Turkey.”

The fellow who hired him said: “When I engaged Flynn Co. polls showed 85% likelihood of Hillary winning,” he wrote on Twitter after the filings. “If intention was to lobby USG I would have hired Podesta like Gulen,” he added, referring to the United States government and Tony Podesta, a prominent Washington lobbyist and brother of John D. Podesta, who was Mrs. Clinton’s campaign chairman.

^^^^^ Apparently namandgulfdipshit thinks being an undeclared foreign agent AND Trump's National Security Advisor at the same time is an incredible story.

Yes, how are we to believe that Trump doesn't bother to vet his appointments to top jobs in his administration?
Or else Trump DOES vet them and just doesn't care.

I find that pretty unbelievable too, numbnuts, so I can sympathize with your incredulity.

As usual the AssClown picks and chooses parts of the story that fit the silly ass word game he creates and ignores those parts that don't fit his narrative and allow him to do his ridiculous victory dance.

And he thinks nobody notices.

As we see yet again, Loser Boy AssClown Insipid couldn't refute a word I said, so he instead pretends there is something incorrect about the article I quoted.

Loser Boy doesn't have anything, of course, but he likes to pretend he does so he can do his ridiculous victory dance by means of idiotic johnforbesian innuendo.

That's why he refuses to post a link to support his assertions. He knows its pure Conservativeshit pulled out his asshole.
And if namandgulfdumbfuck had an once of integrity or honesty, which he doesn't, he would demand Loser Boy post such evidence to support his impotent incessant partisan whining.

Obviously, the article I quoted that explains to ignorant tools like you and Loser Boy AssClown Insipid that they are all supporting foreign agents running our government.

Not one of you morons could refute a single fact it reveals, as always.

Google "gratuitous assertion" AssClown Google master.
Not being based in fact, your gratuitous ASSertion need not be refuted. It fails all on it's own.
Exactly like your Marxist ideology.

Slate tilts to the Left, and that article adds no thing to what was posted earlier.

My opinion has always been that generals/admirals should NOT be able to cash in by being on boards of directors, by lobbying, or by selling their rank (in essence) by running intel firms.

Still, the fellow who hired him said: “When I engaged Flynn Co. polls showed 85% likelihood of Hillary winning,” he wrote on Twitter after the filings. “If intention was to lobby USG I would have hired Podesta like Gulen,” he added, referring to the United States government and Tony Podesta, a prominent Washington lobbyist and brother of John D. johnny, the alleged motivations of the guy when he hired Flynn have nothing to do with whether Flynn was a foreign agent while advising President-elect Trump and the Trump campaign.
And do you think it is possible that after Trump won, the guys motivations toward Flynn may have changed?

That Flynn filed retroactively for foreign agent status should tell you something. It's an admission that Flynn and his lawyer believe Flynn met the criteria for being a foreign agent at the time.
But like the rest of the reactionary swamp here, you're always satisfied with irrelevancies to distract you from the salient point of Flynn's admission.

He would have gone with Tony Podesta had his motivation been influence because, at that time, Hillary was thought to be a mortal lock to win.

Did his feelings change when Trump got elected? You bet. He probably felt like Einstein.

I'd go a step further and say that it shouldn't even be possible for a former general/admiral to become a registered agent.

It isn't China here, but Turkey has a very long history of being a sort of middleman -- neither fish nor fowl -- and Flynn shouldn't have gotten involved in this.

Flynn getting paid by the republicans and by the Turkish at the same time?

That's not something which can be easily explained away. Especially when the Trump white house is lying about this. Trump's "team" can't even explain why they brought along Flynn knowing very well that he was linked to Putin...right before the election.

And it's even more nonsensical when it took Trump weeks to fire Flynn after the justice department told Trump that Flynn was lying about communicating with the Russians.

And to ice the cake... Flynn recently registered as a foreign agent. Go figure how Trump would hire a foreign agent to be head of national security! Bizarrely enough...Flynn's lawyers contacted Trump on multiple occasions to inform him that Flynn was working as a foreign agent when Trump made him National Security Advisor.

And Trump's team claimed that they had no idea what Flynn was up to???

Elkin, read my post above what you posted.

I largely agree that retired generals/admirals should NOT be able to start lobbying or starting their own intel firms.

A general's pension would be, what, about 100k per year with COLAs?

Flynn could have scraped by on that, couldn't he?

There are websites that list all the registered foreign agents...
I looked at one of those sites and was amazed
at how many former US statesmen(Reps and Senators) are registered as foreign agents... :o

Manafort

Stone

Page

Gordon

Sessions

Kushner

Foreign Lobbying, Fake News, and meetings with foreign agents. Different stories but the same shit...lying and deceiving the American public. Par for the course for the Trump administration, and it's only been two months or so.

But Elkin, you are just seeking to make cheap partisan points.

What I noted was nonpartisan -- the notion that a general/admiral should not be able to readily cash in on rank by heading for K Street.

Everybody should agree on that; it isn't a partisan point.
