They haven't disclosed the race or religion of the person involved but 10 to 1 odds it wasn't a radical Muslim, after all she's their biggest enabler.

Dudes, you heard it here first.

I missed that. Was it on the front page of Drudge?

Now that I'm in South Dakota, I might not be getting the newest edition of the Drudge Front page.

I'm surprised at the lack of media coverage on this..
The only report I found says a man driving a Mercedes tried to intercept Merkel's convoy...
I bet the car was loaded with explosives....but no one is saying a thing..

Anybody who tries to play along with "Jeopardy!" every night will lose plenty.

There are entire categories about which I'm ignorant -- modern rock music, modern movies, modern country (assuming it even exists and the song "Murder on Music Row" suggests it doesn't), classical music, geography where some country names have changed in recent years, mythology, on and on.

There are areas in academic trivia where I'm fairly good,

If you compete at anything, whether basketball in the past (or any sport), you will lose plenty.

But, as with any competition, if you have fun and avoid injury, you are always the winner

It was a mature discussion of the nature of competition.

If you compete in any sport, you try to win but must be prepared to lose.

The better you are at a sport, the higher the level of competition you face. If you were great at high school hoops, you must be prepared to be much more mediocre in college.

If you play academic trivia, you have to be prepared to run into people who are better in a given subject and even those better in almost all subjects.

Such is the nature of competition.

If you have fun, and avoid injury, you are the winner.

True.

Lawyers do well there too because they tend to have 7 years of generalist education.

As Louis Nizer noted, a lawyer must have a bathtub mind, fill it up with details about a given case, then when the case is adjudicated just pull the plug and move to the next case.

Quiz games like "Jeopardy!" are quick recall, quick reaction games, and it isn't clear whether a really deep thinker like Einstein would do well at that.
