Political discussions about everything

I watch the members posting half-truths and falsehoods on this board and then chastising others for not believing as they do. I watch members posting in support of the candidates for the highest office in the world and then try to make those who do not agree with their views appear as idiots. These two candidates are people you wouldn't even invite into your home. These two people have the power to wipe out life on earth with the push of a button. These two people, through their policies, have the power to create chaos in the world. There is very little real debate going on and what debate there is is fraught with downright falsehoods or half-truths or flawed opinions.

We have many hard problems in this country that need to be worked on now. We have a real need for leaders who will work for solutions that benefit all not just the lobbyists and those who will contribute to the campaign funds. My blood still boils when I think about the government grant of $179,000 to a scientist to determine if glaciers are sexist. Wha!!!!!

If you're looking for problems to discuss, here are a few"

a. World population. Presently there are are over 7 billion people on this blue marble. It took 16 centuries for the world's population to double. In 1950 the population of the world was about 2.525 trillion, 66 years later the population is in excess of 7 trillion. Increases in food production are lagging increases in population growth by a significant number and many "agricultural advances" are later found to cause sickness and death or environmental concerns. Add to this the growing problem of potable water in the world and the problem gets worse. To add to the problem, some of the world's countries are experiencing population declines, particularly the younger people of working age.. Solution...give the people incentives to have more children.

b. Climate change. There are many who still deny climate change despite evidence. The "oil Gods" knew in 1968 that burning fossil fuels causes climate change. But, the dollar ruled and the study was kept secret. We are finding that our present idiocy will cause problems for centuries to come even if we solve pollution today. (https://www.theguardian.com/environment ... re_btn_tw/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) Then there's the impact of our actions to the earth. California is sinking due to the pumping of oil and water from the aquifer. Then there's this from Texas. (http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/local/ ... 313203.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). How about earthquakes caused by fracking. (http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/local/ ... 313203.php(" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

c. Wealth inequality. 20 of America's richest people have more money than the bottom 152 million people. (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/americ ... 2015-12-02" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) How long do we expect these 152 million people to sit by and accept poverty? And then we hear that many of the 20 hid wealth overseas to amass even more wealth. Remember The Panama Papers? Why has that story dies out so quick?

These are just a few of our problems that we should be discussing. I could go on...infrastructure, building efficiency, medical costs, education, retraining, etc.

So your solution to over population and starvation is hand out money so people will have more children?

Man can not control the climate but we can keep our planet cleaner. California is drying up because it's going back to it's natural state, a desert. I'd like to see us put able bodied person needing handouts to work cleaning our public lands and other chores to earn their welfare while helping our planet.

c. Wealth inequality

All I have to say about that is if they earned it legally then good for them. I would like a federal task force to round up and prosecute all those who have used their government positions to enrich themselves and their families. That money should be returned to pay down our debt.

Justme, you are about the most negative person that I know. I'll bet your neighbours sneak over in the middle of the night and plant "For Sale" sings on your lawn. As for handing out money to solve over-population, I just stated a fact not opinion.

Dude, your post is the one negative, over population, starving masses, California sinking, oceans rising, rich not sharing enough of their money. So what's negative about mine, and why are you chastising me, because I don't agree with you?

Aw shit! Now you have done it.

Clown is busy composing Google queries to come up with his answer to all the world's problems, and when he executes said queries....he will take the whole internet down.

And I wanted to browse porn tonight....damn.

Maybe instead of browsing porn on the government and thus taxpayer teat, you might get a job, TVD.

Really. Give it a shot.

There you go, TVD. Forbes has linked you to God-only-knows-what gay porn involving Ronald Reagan effigies.

Don't need it....happily retired. Thanks for your concern about my employment.
I knew you cared.
I see Clownmoid has not submitted the queries yet....worldwide Internet is still up.....

In Grog's demented "mind," every link is to gay porn.

For those of us more sane, the link was to Lou Dobbs condeming the stench of Clinton corruption.

To be fair, though, Grog's stench is no less pronounced.

I wonder why this isn't in the media?
The media is trying to control the information the masses receive and doesn't receive, just as our public school system is doing. Heard Obama has officially agreed to hand over control of the internet to an international board outside of America's control. This is another step to shut down websites and people who don't conform to the globalist agenda. Voyeurweb will be put on notice that if they wish to remain on the internet, they will have to shut down the political discussion board since it doesn't conform to international standards of insuring only approved information is disseminated.

I wonder if anyone opened the link. It casts doubt on Trump's statements that eh doesn't know Putin. Mrs. Trump on vacation with Putin's girlfriend.

Of course....I sure opened it.

And, I was shocked at what I saw.

Snake....good post...thoughtful questions.
But....I said it once, I say it again.....this country is at the mall. No one cares a whit about serious problems and their resolution. They care more about the Kardashians, The Bachelor, and every other kind of inane crap that can be put out in circus form for their consumption.

"Already long ago, from when we sold our vote to no man, the People have abdicated our duties; for the People who once upon a time handed out military command, high civil office, legions — everything, now restrains itself and anxiously hopes for just two things: bread and circuses"

I know you are smart enough to NOT expect any kind of solution to your questions, any kind of rational discourse re: your post, any sound words at all, FROM A PORN BOARD poli forum.

It will not happen here. And to prove my point about the level of concern and caring in this country...

Miilwaukee is burning, Louisiana is flooding, Trump is Putin's butt buddy (apparently), Hillary is a criminal to whom laws do not apply, etc, etc, etc. and Obama is busy generating and publishing his fall playlist. WTF...SMH.

OMA!

It is true that the cell phone-ization of America is good for Democrats.

Most of the supporters of Obama and Hillary couldn't tell you what country Putin is associated with, or who Soros is, or even who Biden is.

These days, few Americans read a newspaper or watch the evening news, and voters with low information or no information surely would favor Democrats promising handouts.

One thing for sure, Putin will respect President Trump and if Trump draws a red line, you can bet Trump won't head to the golf course if someone crosses it. It would be great if we had a President that could reset with Russia. That person isn't Hillary.
By johnforbes

Perhaps Putin will take advantage of weakness this year?

"Moscow is dispatching thousands of soldiers to its border with Ukraine, along with more armored vehicles, more aircraft, and more missile defense systems in moves that have Kiev on edge, and U.S. military officials watching closely. And Russian President Vladimir Putin landed in Crimea Friday for meetings with security officials."

Hillary's staffers got a red plastic button from Staples and pressed it to signal a reset with Russia.

No kidding.

They were actually so juvenile and stupid as to do that.

Of course, Hillary's reset failed, as did everything else she tried in foreign policy.

We all know how that reset button flopped. When Hillary handed it to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov he asked if it was joke, the button said "Over Charged" in Russian. Hillary blamed her assistant. Russia called it a diss! Things went down hill from that point on with Russia.

Imagine a Yale-educated lawyer who thinks it would be a great idea to bring a red plastic button to a foreign policy meeting.

That is so juvenile as to be preposterous.
