New emails from Hillary Clinton's tenure as secretary of state raise questions about the nature of the department's relationship with the Clinton Foundation.

The emails raise questions about the Clinton Foundation's influence on the State Department and its relations during her tenure.

In one instance, top Clinton Foundation official Doug Band lobbied Clinton aides for a job for someone else in the State Department. In the email, Band tells Hillary Clinton's former aides at the department -- Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin -- that it is "important to take care of (redacted)." Band is reassured by Abedin that "Personnel has been sending him options."

It's just come out that Lynch herself killed a request by the FBI to conduct a criminal investigation into the State Department's relationship with the Clinton Foundation. After a bank alerted the FBI to the "suspicious activity" of foreign donors to the Clinton Foundation, three top Justice Department officials pushed for a public corruption probe of the charity earlier this year, but were overruled.

Three Justice Department field offices agreed that the agency should pursue the investigation at the behest of the FBI, CNN reported Thursday. During a previously unreported meeting earlier this year, high-ranking Justice Department officials also clashed over the possibility of pursuing a public corruption investigation.
