Could it be that he wants to make it tougher for whacked out crazies to get them??
Nope or else he would be prosecuting them with existing laws and wouldn't be releasing those convicted.
If I wanted to abolish the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution here is what I'd do:
1. Open the borders to criminal illegal aliens and terrorists in unprecedented numbers to raise crime and violence and put stress on social networks.
2. Release tens of thousands of convicted felons from prison
3. Greatly reduce illegal gun convictions
4. Foment hatred between minorities and the police with false narratives, and enlist the aid of radical violence based organizations to push those narratives
5. Enlist the aid of the liberal state run media to plant as many false narratives about gun violence as they could on a weekly basis.
6. Import Syrian terrorists by the thousands on the taxpayer dime to increase violence
7. Once violence reaches a saturation point for the majority of Americans, claim guns are to blame, access to them is too easy, and there are too many of them on the streets and martial law is the only solution, shut down those organizations and media with radical views (conservatives) then rewrite the Constitution (Just as Turkey is now doing with their staged take over by the military) then you have TOTAL power.
