DEVELOPING: A large truck drove into a crowd of people who had gathered for a Bastille Day fireworks show Thursday in the southern French city of Nice, killing at least 30 people and injuring 100 more in an apparent terror attack, officials said.

The official told France's BFM TV that the driver of the truck was also dead. A witness, Wassim Bouhlel, told the Associated Press that he saw the truck drive into the crowd, then witnessed the driver emerge with a gun and start shooting.

"There was carnage on the road," Bouhlel said. "Bodies everywhere."

There already are gun laws in place and assault weapons are banned, the problem is only lawful citizens follow the laws. I would like to see our laws enforced, using a gun in a crime should add 10 years automatically to the crime no matter if it is just stealing skittles. Felons and those caught with guns illegally should be tossed in prison for 5 years, no ifs ands or butts. Our government should leave those who don't use their legal guns for crimes the hell alone. That's the type of gun control I'd like to see. That's the type of gun control that would decrease killings by guns.

Concerning illegals and immigrants, we should enforce our current laws, someone who sneaks into the country shouldn't be rewarded with social assistance and promises of citizenship. They should be deported immediately and told if they want to become a US citizen, fill out the application and get in line. The only immigrants we should be allowing into the country are the ones who have something to offer America, not something we have to offer to them. If letting them live here doesn't have a positive effect on current citizens, they shouldn't be allowed in. Allowing in thousands of unvetted Muslims (many very radical), who are immediately placed on social assistance receiving more total tax dollars than citizens who have worked all their lives living off of social security, isn't in the best interest of citizens.

How is that for a moderate common sense approach to resolving our gun control and immigration issues!

You made my point, the AR15 didn't meet the specifications as an assault weapon for the military so they had to make a modified version which is the AR16, which "is an assault weapon". Dude try to buy an AR16 and tell us how that goes.
