According to two sources briefed on the events, the meeting was a setup. And with that, Liewandowski was out. Trump has long viewed announcing his running mate at the GOP convention next month as a valuable card to play. He was shocked that Liewandowski didn't have any other ideas. Shortly after the meeting, Liewandowski was escorted out of the building by Trump security.

Were it otherwise, there were tens of thousands of better qualified white males Obama could have chose.

As to banning uncheckable new Muslims from risky areas of the world, that's a good idea.

As to poll numbers, the conventions have not even taken place, the summer heat is just commencing.

It's a long, long while from May to December.
