First a 7.3 earthquake followed by a 7.1, 44,000 known homeless and since it's only been hours unknown the exact amount killed or injured...but yet they've already started to pull together, helping each other and bracing up damaged buildings. Had this happened in many other areas of the world, including some of our cities, there would be massive looting and outcries that the government wasn't doing enough to help them while they do nothing but lay around and whine, unwilling to even help themselves. Two thumbs up to the people of Japan, many could learn something from them. Someone should do a documentary contrasting how they respond to crisis compared to say New Orleans after Katrina, during which more were killed from violence than the storm.

Hmm that's interesting. Maybe one of our progressive friends here who understand multi-culturalsim much better could explain things.

I do think the answer is going to go right to white racism.
