US to buy 32 metric tons of nuclear material from Iran, State Dept announces. Iran sent the heavy water to Oman en route to its final destination: the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee. Secretary of State John Kerry was set to meet with his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif in New York City Friday afternoon. A State Dept. delegation is also meeting in Vienna today with Iran and six world powers to discuss the nuclear deal and sign the contract moving the purchase forward. The Dept. of Energy is buying the material in part because few other shoppers are stepping up and making an offer.

Critics argue this was part of Iran's plan all along. "Iran has created a clever scheme – produce too much heavy water so as to break the nuclear agreement, then get the Obama administration and eventually US companies to pay Tehran to get rid of it. Rinse, repeat," Foundation for Defense of Democracies Executive Director Mark Dubowitz responded.
Is there any doubt Obama is helping Iran develop nuclear weapons?

As long as Obama and the Iranians have an agreement to use the nuke(s) only on heavy Tea Party areas, it's a good plan. And good for you people as well because you'll be positively glowing when y'all pass on to the c l o u d kingdom, or, for most of you, a much warmer place.

Oy vey!

RealTool incorrectly calls the heavy water "nuclear waste" when it isn't and sillydummy swallows Tool's nonsense, implying the heavy water is radioactive when it isn't.

What's the matter with these Right Wing ignoramuses?

Their handlers feed them made up stupid shit and they simply regurgitate it without question.

RealTool incorrectly calls the heavy water "nuclear waste"

Heavy water (D2O), also called deuterium oxide, water composed of deuterium, the hydrogen isotope with a mass double that of ordinary hydrogen, and oxygen. (Ordinary water has a composition represented by H2O.) Thus, heavy water has a molecular weight of about 20 (the sum of twice the atomic weight of deuterium, which is 2, plus the atomic weight of oxygen, which is 16), whereas ordinary water has a molecular weight of about 18 (twice the atomic weight of ordinary hydrogen, which is 1, plus oxygen, which is 16).

Ordinary water as obtained from most natural sources contains about one deuterium atom for every 6,760 ordinary hydrogen atoms. and the residual water is thus enriched in deuterium content.

Now you at least understand "heavy water" isn't "nuclear waste" so your day isn't a complete waste.
So now the smartest man in the room is also a nuclear physicist.

It can safely be said, all things being normal, that water from a mountain spring is not radioactive....

The same is said of heavy water, in it's normal state .....

But I wouldn't trust either one if they just came out of a nuclear reactor!

"So now the smartest man in the room is also a nuclear physicist."-tvdunce

That's just it, I'm not that smart. But clearly I'm still smarter than you.

A little high school chemistry is all one needs to understand you and RealTool are just ignorant about this. It doesn't take a college degree in physics.

"Heavy water" is a naturally occurring molecule. You consume some every time you drink a glass of water.
It isn't produced in nuclear reactors and it isn't a waste product.
High concentrations are produced intentionally.

You might as well be saying the gold coins buried in RealTool's backyard are "mining waste".
We can expect that from someone with poor ESL skills like RealTool, but you have no excuse for your ignorance.

Hmmmm...

Smartest guy in the room is not so smart.

I make one single solitary comment on this thread, and the smartest guy in the room

JUMPS TO THE CONCLUSION THAT I DON"T KNOW WHAT HEAVY WATER IS.

How the hell did he get that idea?...makes no sense at all.

Smart thoughtful people don't jump to conclusions.

Hell I drink all my beers with ice cubes made of heavy water....gives it an added zing!
#71169
tvd, you posted that you thought it took a degree in physics to understand that RealTool and sillydaddy were wrong thinking heavy water is "nuclear waste".

If you already knew what heavy water is, you already understood that one doesn't need to be a physicist to know that heavy water is not "nuclear waste". So you must have also already known your "one single solitary comment on this thread" is incredibly stupid.
In other words, if you already knew I was correct, then your comment could only have come from a dishonest partisan asshole.

So take your pick: you didn't know what heavy water is or you're an incredibly stupid and dishonest partisan asshole.
I have no trouble believing either one.

Care to stick your foot in your mouth again, dimwit?

I posted that I thought it takes a nuclear physicist to know what heavy water is? Where?

What I posted in plain English is that "Now the smartest man in the room is also a nuclear physicist."

That's what I posted.

And I posted it to point out the incredible fact that the smartest man in the room is an EXPERT on EVERYTHING....
EVERYTHING.

There ain't nothing you don't know about, huh?

And you spin, spin, spin.

God damn guys, Clown thinks the gold is mining waste!!!! Look at that stupid statement!!!!!

Clown, it doesn't take a mining engineer to know that gold extracted from a mine is the PRODUCT, not the waste!!!
You probably bathe tin the arsenic compounds that are the TRUE WASTE of many a gold mine.

Makes you quite the stupid boy....

Clown, in reality I think you are Google educated. Your first move if something comes across this board that you are not already an expert on is to Google it, and then post as if you knew all along.

There ain't no fucking way you had any idea about this heavy water / Iran sale / nuclear waste issue.
But when you Googled it, and realized Real's error in calling it "waste", and shazam! Then you strike!!!!
Spin the whole concept of the post to suit your needs, which are to disagree with everything, and gloat in the aftermath. Psycho.

You are so incredibly hung up on yourself that you don't even know when someone is mocking you.

Tell you something else....shhhh don't tell anyone I said this.

I have posted 4 times in close succession. The reason is because you have got me so spun up, so pissed off, that I am rapid posting...

What do you think about that? I bet you are just chuckling to yourself...so happy that you got me going....
Aren't you?

Oh, wait...I heard that somewhere before....hmmm....oh yes. Gloating in the aftermath.

You are truly psycho.

Obama has made Iran America's official nuclear trading partner while financing their development of nuclear weapons. 34 Tons of heavy water used in nuclear plants, why did Obama do it, if it wasn't to help fund them?

When I stopped by johnny's house yesterday evening and asked his wife if he was home, his wife said johnny was "out hunting scrote on the interstate."

I don't know what that means, but it sounds pretty disturbing to me.

johnforbes shows an amazing insight here.

He sees that the powerful neutron of my factual postings fired into the foolishness of this thread has caused an explosive split, chain reaction, and even a meltdown of out of control fissioning stupidity and ranting by tvd and RealTool.
(johnny's otherwise moronic interruption of idiocy is just par for the course in his case, unfortunately.)

These clowns all know I'm right and can't refute a thing I said, yet they still attack and get angry at me instead of at the dodos who parade their ignorance with impunity here.
It's the reliable method of the Right: Kill the messenger who dares to show them reality and the extent of their ignorance.
