Chicago schools are a basket case. The pension fund is under funded by $9,5 billion and the school system owes the bond holders $6 billion. I doubt that there is any way to overcome this shortfall. The article is a horror story with complete instructions on hot to NOT run a school system.
I've said this before; lawmakers should be required to fully fund any bill (benefit) they pass. Would you still want the best government benefit if you knew that we would have to raise your taxes $100 a week to pay for it?
