So the Pope, egged on by "journalists," said it was "un-Christian" of Trump to want a wall to keep out illegals?

When will these same illegals be invited to live at the Vatican?

It is tax-free there, and with Swiss Guards, so when will the illegals be moving in?
#68822
Short answer, never.
Outside a military installation, the Vatican is the most heavily guarded (by walls, fences and guards), and most desired target (by ISIS) on earth.
For the Pope to point fingers at Trump is ludicrous.
Both the Pope and Trump know this.
Trump also knows the Pope would be on his holy knees begging for U.S. help if ISIS breached the walls.
Swiss guards, the Wops, fuck them. Where are the SEALS and Delta Force?
Point Trump.

Predictably, the board morons miss the point yet again.

The Pope simply said that anyone who wants to build a wall to keep refugees and migrants out of a country is not a Christian.
And that's true. Bite the bullet and read your Gospels for a change.
But the Pope didn't say Trump was not a Christian because he refused to let a million refugees live in his house or business offices or his many hotels, the way you dimwits are pretending.
If you actually bothered to read the things Jesus preached, Trump's behavior would be transparently non-Christian to anyone with an IQ nearing 100.

Admittedly that puts you clowns in a borderline situation, but give it a try anyway.
#68830
Any pope should be sophisticated enough to know that reporters will lure him into such statements.

And he should realize how hypocritical it is for him to live in a mansion, surrounded by guards, and then tell ordinary Americans they are not Christian.

If you go to Italy, as I have a number of times, you have to do it legally and produce your passport.
#68900
I have no idea how many illegals live in the Vatican and neither do you.

They have a wall because they want a wall. It was there for hundreds of years. It has historical significance. No one has suggested we should tear down historical landmarks anywhere else to house immigrants.

The Vatican is a sovereign state. Inside its walls is, among other things, a military base.
Neither you nor immigrants can get into our military bases either because they have fences and guards.
No one has suggested we move immigrants into our military bases.
Inside its walls are some of the greatest architectural and art treasures on Earth. You would be an idiot not to protect them. No one has ever said we should house immigrants in our museums.
Inside the walls are the Offices of State. You aren't free to walk around those sorts of buildings in the U.S. either.
Just try to walk into the Secretary of State's office without an appointment. No one has ever suggested we should house immigrants in the White House or the Capitol Building.
Inside the walls are Offices of the Catholic Church. Have you ever tried to just walk into the Mormon Temple in Utah or the offices of the Prophet? Or the Scientologists? Or any major religious sect?
Inside the walls are residential quarters for residents and guests. No one has suggested you move immigrants into your home, so don't be an idiot and pretend the Pope should have people wandering through his.
Behind the walls are some gardens. Nobody has ever said immigrants should be moved into your parks and gardens here or anywhere else.
Inside the walls are over 100 embassies. No one has ever said we should house immigrants inside embassies of foreign nations or on the grounds of foreign embassies.
Inside the walls there is no employment for immigrants. There are no natural resources. There is no manufacturing. There is no industry that would provide a future to immigrants. Moving them to a place without any future would serve no purpose. Forget about the lack of food storage, food preparation, medical, and sanitary facilities.

Now, Tool, you should make the case for why it would be a good idea to move immigrants into the Vatican.
But you won't because you can't.

I never said it was a good idea to move immigrants into the Vatican, I just pointed out that they take extreme precautions to keep illegals out so shouldn't be tossing stones.
#68912
So Tool, you agree it would be stupid for the Vatican to try to take in refugees when they aren't able to do so.

Now, if you are going to cry "hypocrisy" with johnforbes, you and he need to make a case that the U.S. can't accept any refugees and that the Pope called for immigrants to be crammed into 45 blocks around the White House, the Capitol, the National Mall, and Embassy row.

Good luck with that.

By far, America is the most welcoming country on the planet.

We take in a million LEGAL immigrants every year.

But America uses a very dumb policy of never inquiring whether even the LEGAL immigrants provide skills the country needs.

Australia, Canada, etc are not that stupid.

There you go again! It's stupid for anyone to take in unvetted Muslims, even the Vatican. But unless they're willing to tear down their walls and invite the unvetted Muslims in, the Pope should be critical of Trump just wanting to do what the Vatican already does...keep them out.
#68931
As I said, Tool, the Vatican lets in millions of people every year without ever checking passports or backgrounds.
What does the wall have to do with anything?

As long as we're comparing apples and oranges, I could say that until the U.S. does the same thing, (welcoming millions of unchecked people each year) Trump (and you) can't criticize the Pope for anything he says about open borders, and until the U.S. tears down walls and fences around the White House, our military bases, and embassies, you can't criticize the Pope for not tearing down the historic Vatican wall.

johnforbes' mind is remarkably like that of a pelvic exercise.

Sure, acquaintances call him a "royal sphincter" but his many friends out on the interstate just call him "johnKegel".

The smug platitudes ooze out of him like a Play-Doh Fun Factory and he easily pinches them off onto this board.
Then he stands back to admire his work like a 2-year-old staring into a toilet before running around bragging about his big accomplishment of the day, over and over, with his efficient self-copy-and-pasting.

I believe people can make life "hell" for others, the way johnforbes has for his wife and kids.

As to the mythical "hell" of the Bible, it doesn't exist.
Ask any Jew whether the Christian hell as a place of eternal torture is ever mentioned in the Old Testament.
It isn't.
Jesus didn't say anything about it either.
Christians just made it up to scare the simple minded, the way they made up "Christianity" which, as practiced today, has little to do with the teachings of Jesus.

Jesus said "...the kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21 King James)
It isn't some place 'out there'. If you don't get it here, you don't get it.
Hell is also within you. Ask those who have to listen to johnforbes' unfunny jokes all year and force themselves to chuckle just to be polite. It eats them up inside until they can gnaw their arm off and get away.

But if I'm mistaken and there actually is a Christian hell, you can bet we will all be forced to stand still and listen to johnforbes bloviate mindlessly and pun witlessly for eternity, with short breaks for Insipid to spew his vile, ignorant rants and RealTool droning on about how the Democrats got us all there.
#69066
johnny, you're thinking of someone else.
Perhaps you're thinking of your wife's memoirs of your marriage From Bore to What Seems Like An Eternity

I can't stand the taste of beer and have never consumed more than a couple mouthfuls.

That's just one more reason your 'humor' isn't even remotely funny.
You're absolutely clueless about the things you try to joke about.
#69069
Of course not. They don't exist, dummy.
Clown, you continue to go down hill and you're losing entertainment value. First you say you don't believe in Jesus and then you quote him, then you say they don't exist. Dude you've got a real problem, I've tried to you help you but I'm giving up on you.
#69071
When did I ever say I don't believe in Jesus, numbnuts?
He was an actual Jewish Rabbi, most likely.

I'm fairly sure he actually existed, though there isn't really any solid evidence (such as Roman records) that he did for sure.
Various garden variety Messiahs were cropping up every few years, so mostly they were treated like all the other criminals who remained anonymous.
But I doubt that 14 "gospels" would have been written about someone who didn't at some point walk around with the people (or friends of the people) who wrote them.

"...then you say they don't exist"

You were talking about "Heaven and Hell". The fact that they don't exist has nothing to do with whether or not I believe in Jesus.
Criminy, you really need to untangle your sloppy mind. No wonder you're confused about politics. You think of it the same way you think of religion. You listen to whatever your handlers---uh, ministers--- spoon feed you like an infant, you take it at face value, and then you go proselytizing like a mindless Mormon or Seventh Day Adventist going door to door.

Your kind of stupid is indistinguishable from them.
