Illinois has not had a budget for 8 months and counting.

Unpaid bills pile up having now reached a record $10 billion to $12 billion according to state comptroller Leslie Geissler Munger.

Vendors are furious. One vendor has lost 40% of staff that once numbered 1,000 because it has not made its payroll for 14 weeks.

It's not the bad GOP that's mucking up the works this time.

This is a really good article. Whatever party you support, this should interest you. If the economy isn't strong and if business isn't hiring we all suffer. The solutions to these problems must be found or the world is in trouble.

Bernie to the rescue, take more money from those who have worked their way to success and businesses then give it those who are happy living off of handouts. Bernie has it figured out, there are more poor voters than rich ones and businesses can't vote.

Illinois just isn't spending enough, if they spend more their budget will grow because that's the way it works in government. Odd they've spent their asses off but they've allowed their budget not to keep up, must be lack of sufficient taxes.

There is a lady married to a relative of mine who retired as principal of an Illinois high school.

Her pension is over 100k per yr, and she even states that she has no idea how Illinois can continue to do that.

Justme...For the life of me I cannot figure how Bernie has anything to do with the problem of Illinois not paying their bills. This post is not about Dems or GOP, it is about paying business for the work they've done and services they've provided so that they can continue to prosper and not have to lay off workers.

Well there you go, Illinois is lagging behind in collecting taxes, that's why they're broke. Plus their public agencies are to small and are under paid. Plus if they increase the amount of food stamps and aid they give out, that'll give those people more money to spend, more taxes. Bernie for President.
