Now Trump has claimed ownership to the internet!!!

"Asked during the fifth Republican presidential debate Tuesday night if he is open to "closing up" parts of the World Wide Web to fight terrorism, GOP front-runner Donald Trump said he does not want to see "people who want to kill us and kill our nation use our Internet."

So who's "our?"

And how does he plan to "shut down" the internet? Is there some switch somewhere? Wasn't the whole purpose of having the internet...so it couldn't be "shut down."

If you want to see how easy it is to shut down the part of an internet being used by an individual or group, just skip paying your internet provider's bill and like magic your part of the internet will be shut down. If you don't think access to targeted areas of the internet can be shut down you're wackier than I thought. Sure they can pop up somewhere else but they can be disrupted and have to start all over every with new contacts and websites.

So what part of Trump's statement do you disagree with?

Playing whack-a-mole is an idiot proposal. Who told you that? Terrorists communicate through encrypted communications. The Paris attackers sent encrypted messages using a playstation. So how could hitting the kill switch stop them?

The government could hit the kill switch, but it would be a blatant violation of the 1st amendment.
