My grandmother used to tell me that you always get the life you deserve. I hope Shkreli meets "Bubba" in prison. I'm sure that the government is going after him big time because he called attention the the lack of oversight and buddy-buddy relationship of Congress with the drug companies. It couldn't happen to a better person.

I don't understand this.

Shkreli's the poster boy for corporate capitalism.
Pay as little as you can--sell for as much as the market will bear.
I don't see the difference between him and every other major pharma company out there.
He just does it bigger and more outrageously than anyone else.

All I can see is Shkreli is drawing attention to the big boys' longtime scam and they need to have him shut down before everyone catches on and gets pissed at them as well.

I suggest two books for those interested; "Liar's Poker" and "The Big Short." I'm not sure how the movie stays true to "The Big Short" but the books will change your view of Wall Street and our investment community.

Pharmaceutical companies are Democrats largest slush fund puppies. Their biggest bought and paid for politician is Obama. Yes he's a bad guy that should be in prison with Bubba (Clinton) but watch for a behind the scene deal to take place. You heard it here first.

Clinton and Obama were the top recipients of donations from pharmaceutical companies during the 2008 election, according to CNN. Clinton also has close ties with pharmaceutical companies on behalf of the Clinton Foundation.

We should just close down all the pharmaceutical companies for good! Nobody needs all that shit!
LOL, you may be more correct than you think. I suspect 80% of drugs are over prescribed for several reasons. One is doctors that get kick banks from the pharmaceuticals for prescribing their drugs and second because now days there's so many people that "think" they need the drug, they saw in on TV...so the doctor, rather arguing or risk getting sued, losing patients, etc, go ahead prescribe the drug. Happy patient, nice little kick back from the pharmaceutical to boot. Ask me how I know, go ahead ask me. Well since you asked, my sister is a doctor. Doctors actually attend seminars put on by pharmaceutical companies on how they can earn massive amounts of money by just prescribing their products and those seminars are normally at all inclusive high end resorts.

You can find out if your doctor has received payments from a company that makes a medication or device they are recommending for you.

https://projects.propublica.org/docdollars/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

These five doctors topped the list for kick backs from pharmaceutical companies:

SUJATA NARAYAN
$43.9M

KAREN UNDERWOOD
$28.5M

STEPHEN BURKHART
$24M

SANJAY YADAV
$23.1M

KEVIN FOLEY
$22M

So Dog, your recommendation that we should close down the pharmaceutical companies isn't to far off from what needs to be done. The problem is that those companies have bought and paid for our politicians, hospitals and most of our doctors, none of them dare speak up and risk losing the steady flow of extra cash, plus they don't want it come out just owned they are.

On the one hand, investing in health care outfits is a good idea because their stocks have done well.

Take a look, for example, at PRHSX.

But it can be a devil's bargain, with TV ads trying to stimulate demand for drugs. And with doctors have a financial incentive.
