For the past 7 years, the problem has been Left Wing nuts.
Obama is closing in on 20 trillion in debt, there are 94 million out of the labor force, the U-6 is 9.9 percent real unemployment, 46 million are on food stamps, and there are so many illegal immigrants (12 million) that politicians are pandering to them.
America was never perfect (no country is), but it was the best big country in human history.
A small country like Switzerland can be run fairly easily, with high literacy rates and such. But it is an enormous task to take a big country and run it well.
Look at the absurd mess America is now in, with the Left actually believing climate change has something to do with terrorism.
