The chart features a pair of lines crossing — one headed upward (abortions) and the other headed downward (cancer screening and prevention services).

When referring to the chart in the hearing, Chaffetz said, "In pink, that's the reduction in the breast exams, and the red is the increase in the abortions. That's what's going on in your organization."

"This is a slide that has never been shown to me before," Richards responded. "Excuse me, my lawyer is informing me that the source of this is actually Americans United for Life, which is an anti-abortion group. So, I would check your source."

"Then we will get to the bottom of the truth of that," Chaffetz agreed.

By the way, tvd, the Planned Parenthood chart is correct because it contains the exact same data as the first chart, only it is graphed to the same scale, not to different scales.
If you want to question the data, then you have to question Chaffetz's data as well.

I was pointing out that it was very suspicious that Elk posted up his example of "lies", did not expressly explain why it was a "lie", just called it a lie, and appeared he likely did not even know what was wrong with the chart.

I also argued that if you suspect the source of the data on the "lie" , then an astute person would also question PPs data as skewed also.

We had a heated discussion on abortion a few months back. I was finding numbers like 900k per year.
PPs numbers show 328??k over six years.

I question their numbers, because they have just as much reason to lie about it as the GOP has to mis-represent on a bogus chart.

So there's that....

Were you sleeping in math class when they taught how to plot a graph using the X and Y coordinates. So why don't you take a close look at Chaffetz's chart. Did you happen to notice that it has 'years' on the X coordinate. But it doesn't have any units on the Y coordinate?

Do you know why units are placed on a chart? To put the data into proper perspective..
