He has told the world that his dying son's wish was that he run for President in 2016. If Biden had any love for his son he would run...unless he made it up just in case Hillary falls on her face and he wants to run. In either case Biden is the best the Democrats have to offer, he needs to pull up his adult diaper and man up.

When his first wife died in a car wreck, Biden made political hay out of that too.

But the reality is that Biden was Obama's sycophant in every aspect of Obama's presidency, which has been a spectacular failure.

46 million on food stamps.

There are millions more illegal immigrants under Obama.

93 million Americans are out of the labor force.

Debt has skyrocketed to 19 trillion. Yes, 19 trillion.

Obama needed Biden to get white votes....

and then he needed Biden to carry his bags into the White House.

Biden hasn't done anything to earn his pay since.....

Only a burned out leftist would say his dying son's last words was American needs you dad, run for President. Of course his son didn't say that, but even worse if he did...why would a father go on stage and share it with the world? There is something deeply wrong with Biden and the liberal party.

In pretty much every developed nation, there is a liberal party.

There certainly is one in America, but JFK would never recognize how far to the Left modern Democrats have drifted.

Allowing 100s of thousands of Syrians into this country just because the world says we

are somehow partly or even entirely responsible for their war......??

Cutting our own throats.....yeah that will set things right, yeah !

Clowntoker's question was interesting -- Coke or Pepsi.

About twice a year, I drink about 1/3 of a Coca Cola.

It has been years -- perhaps a decade -- since I tasted Pepsi, but just on Monday I was at a restaurant and ordered one.

It tasted fine.

As to selecting one versus the other, I own stock in both via various funds.

"As to selecting one versus the other, I own stock in both via various funds."-johnforbes

And johnforbes illustrates perfectly the 'difference' between the Republicans and the Democrats.
People with money own both of them at the same time.

johnny unintentionally lets a bit of truth slip through.

Trump donated to Dems and Repubs for the purpose of getting his phone calls answered regardless who wins a given election.

K Street is crucial.

As to investing, it is not unusual to own more than one good stock in a given sector or sub-sector.

The real dilemma I have, as a non-smoker, is whether to own a fund which itself owns something like Altria. Of course, there are the so-called "ethical" funds which purport to invest only in positive things.

I already said that, johnny. People with money own both parties at the same time.

Arguing the merits of Coke vs. Pepsi is just stupid.
Now let's get back to arguing over the 'two' parties. That's not stupid at all, right?

It makes perfect sense to argue the merits of Coke versus Pepsi stock.

However, I lack the beverage industry expertise to do so, and thus rely on analysts.

Thus, I end up owning both, but just as tiny parts of an overall portfolio.

Coca Cola markets itself as a multinational non-alcoholic beverages corporation.....

A few years ago it enter the beer industry....acquiring 57% of SABMiller Africa..

The Coke bigs said at the time they were only interested in the non-alcoholic division.....we know better.

Coca Cola was trading just under 39 today........a very good price I think.

But you still have the 'ethical' problem regardless of alcohol.

johnforbes pretends to be in a quandary over owning Altria, but then admits to owning both cola companies whose soft drinks do more damage to human health via obesity, diabetes, tooth decay, osteoporosis, and caffeine addiction worldwide than Altria ever could.

But johnny has no problem owning them both.
Ahh, more of the flimsy moral life of our resident hypocrite.

A term such as "quandary" is too strong.

Given the damage tobacco does -- myocardial infarcts, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, emphysema, cancer, and so forth -- I'd prefer not to own tobacco outfits.

On the other hand, people have freedom to make what choices they want as long as it isn't illegal.

Soda pop doesn't do the global damage which tobacco does, although Clowntoker's concern is understandable given his own teeth.

Er, tooth.
